The iPhone always took decent pictures. But night pictures, especially of the moon, were spectacularly crappy. The moon would just be a white blob. Newer ones are so much better now! I refuse to upgrade until mine is no longer supported.... Looking a DSLR's I can buy one for less than $800 and it seems I'm paying for my iPhone forever!!
I only upgrade when mine no longer works properly. So every 4-6 generations, usually. I upgraded several months ago because my old phone was acting up AND I got a $830 trade in for it. Made it worth while. The upgrade cost me a couple hundred.
