A Louisiana man is fighting in court for the First Amendment right to express satire after he made a joke about COVID-19, and was arrested by a sheriff's armed SWAT team that confronted him with guns drawn. The Institute for Justice has confirmed it has taken up the case involving Waylon Bailey of New Orleans. He had posted a joke online comparing the COVID-19 pandemic to a zombie apocalypse, and his Facebook friends all got the comedy. But his post, using some pretty flamboyant language and references to the Brad Pitt zombie movie "World War Z," also drew the attention of the local sheriff's office. Sounds like a Sheriff what needs a Recallin, and a harsh and costly reminder of what being Constitutnal actually means!
LOL! Well, if this is true, and it sounds crazy enough to be true, they will play hell trying to defend their actions. What's sad is - once again - the taxpayer ends up footing the bill. The taxpayer will have to pay legal fees to defend the Sherrif department and the pay out if they lose the case which they should. This is one of the reasons it is so damn difficult to get change out of the government because they are never held personally responsible, unlike citizens and companies.
In truth, it's not, not anymore, as it has gone way too far. The changes that need to be made to improve things will never happen because it would mean the people in power would have to vote against their own power and privilege, ain't going to happen - ever.
Oh, my....I believe that decision is going to go over, like a fart in an elevator!! Honestly, why is a judge with that mentality even serving?? Sounds like they attended Barry Soros' constitutional law class!
