Interesting essay describing the social needs of even hardcore self sufficient lifestyle, even the most self sufficient find they need people. I get a thrill reading some of this ran prieur self sufficient anarchist stuff, I think because it is a refreshingly different pov from todays wearing consumerist society; but I havea fearful vision having a root cellar full of stored veggies for winter, a cask of wine fermenting, deer hanging in the shop generally having "done it"and some how felling the same insecurities/uncertainties.and looking for the next "best". Some sick returning competitive "phantom limb pain" from the severed connection with society. This found essay fills this idea out better than I can http://www.incharacter.org/article.php?article=87
