Florida is about to take it's third hit this year. Any Monkeys down in Central/South Florida need to either evacuate or hunker down in a strong shelter. Milton has become a Cat 5 as of Sunday, but is smaller in area than Helene was. It is projected to reduce to a Cat 4 or 3 by the time it makes landfall around Tampa Bay. Huge storm surge is expected, on top of the heavy rains of the last few days. This one is another killer storm. This will be a major survival situation for a lot of people. After the storm passes, power will be out for an extended time, and roads will be impassable. We up here in North Florida are glad to sit this one out, after our two hits this season.
A lot of folks just ain't living right by the LORD! Seriously, all y'all take care, do the smart thing and my GOD have mercy on your souls!
Thats what I said about the last one , plus the direction , lets see if it is moved and what comes out. just B4 the votes !!! Sloth
Not even close...max measured hurricane 1-minute wind speed was 215mph, lowest measured pressure was 870mb. Milton is no slacker for certain, though.
Not even close, it is from solar forcing of the upper atmosphere. We had a knarly proton storm, driven by a large solar flare - if you can find archived space footage, watch the ring wall lightening. - it increases exponentially after the proton storm.
This storm was one of the fastest growing hurricanes on record, some 95MPH INCREASE in widspeed in only 24 hrs. It is predicted to lose power as quickly once it makes landfall. Luckily wind sheer will help to reduce it's fury. But those on the eastcoast of Central Florida get it at it's worst. We up here in Tallahassee (North Florida) are getting some moderate gusts and some rain from the extreme outlying bands. Glad my yard guy cleared the fallen tree and limbs from Helene, and got my yard mowed yesterday. Still have my storm preps ready, JIC.
Trump has opened to line men at no cost-----------Ya think Bidumb or Hairyass or Obammie would do this HELL NO Former President Donald Trump and his family are hosting 275 Florida Power & Light Company linemen at his Trump National Doral Miami Resort as they prepare to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, which is slated to make landfall on the Gulf Coast on Wednesday night.
If you want to watch some live coverage, check out Ryan Hall's live stream: He has multiple meteorologists that come on along with storm chasers giving live updates. At one point there were 14 tornado warnings, with many of them being "PDS" (potentially dangerous storm)
