Those are OK for a snack, but to optimize the health, lifespan and egg production you really got to feed your chickens food that contains about 16% protein. Of course, being a farm store, we try to push our bags of layer feed, but we also sell most of the items to make you own feed, except for the split peas and flax seed. Yes, feeding scratch grains and cracked corn is cheaper, but they result in fewer eggs, which means more chickens, which means more trips to Rural King to buy feed.
