Anyone Use one? I have one for weekend camp trips but also thinking about throwing it in the B.O.B. anyone here use one?
I have used hammocks for a long time, but never could justify the price for a HH. Years ago, I went with a jungle hammock and a poncho setup, and it held very well and performed its job decently. I still wanted something with bug protection and I found DD Hammocks... Camping & Travel Hammocks for Camping, Survival, Bushcraft and Armed Forces - DD Hammocks I decided to go with their "Travel" hammock, which incorporates a built-in net and can be set up as a ground bivy, too. I couldn't believe the quality, especially since the price was decent. It has held up very well so far, and there are lighter hammocks out there for those who are worried about every ounce. I also have the DDsleeve for it, which makes unpacking and packing a breeze. I use a DDSleeper, too, which significantly increases the thermal rating of my bag. YouTube - Bushcraft - New DD Hammock Review October 2008 But, as far as Hennessey Hammocks are, I don't know. The HH are decent, but their cost has always deterred me. perhaps somebody with knowledge of the quality of material used in their making can add more.
I use one bike camping with a Silvercity sleeping bag. It's the perfect combination; light weight, compact, comfortable, dry, and bug free. Highly recommended and will never go back to a tent unless Bug is along and feeling amorous.
I have the Hennesy Expedition with the Large Hex fly and snakeskin setup.I can honestly say I will never go back to tent camping for my needs either. I got mine from a group buy I put together on another forum so I saved a good amount of cash. If anyone is interested I could put one together for the folks here as well. here is a picture of a friend of mines setup on a dualsport trip in CO, BW
I have all of these in stock as of right now. I can extend the "group Buy" pricing if anyone is interested.
I have been looking into Hennessy a lot lately to carry in my BOB and to use for backpacking, which I would like to get into. From all I have seen, they seem like an excellent hammock.
I am 6'5", 230 lbs, and use the HH explorer asymmetric. Only drawback is cold weather. If you prepare, however, it'll be the best night sleep in the woods that you can remember.
I thought this post was about drinking Hennessey in a hammock. I was gonna say, yeah it's good...DO IT!! My bad. Please, proceed.
How are they for durability? I'm seriously looking at buying one but not sure how they stand up to constant usage.
What kind of pricing would you be talking about, and how many sales would you need to do it? Bottom line, I'm interested, but afraid this is outside my price range.
