WW3? No, I don't think so, at least, not officially. However, it will be a fight of proxies, long and hard, mainly because Iran's proxies have thousands of useless lives they can toss away without regards to the human cost. As far as the Ukraine/Russia war, I think Putin is looking for a way out while saving face because it must be obvious to even him that he is not taking all of the Ukraine. EDIT: Oh! Even with the mass causalities that the Russians have suffered the Ukrainians have been fighting with their hands tied by Biden so what happens when Trump says settle or we'll increase the flow of weapons and take the reins off Ukraine to strike deep within Russia? Zelenskyy has managed to keep his country free and alive due to Western countries providing support but what happens when Trump says settle or he stops the flow from America? Will the Europeans pick up the slack? Frankly, I'm thinking Putin wants Trump to win to give him a way out of this mess for another year of it and increasing sanctions will probably get him a bullet. Sanctions do work but take time, ask Iran or North Korea and they are hurting Russian growth and each year it will get worse.

The troubles in Ukraine are extremely complex and it is too easy to just say, "We, the CIA, caused this" or "NATO expansion caused this" or etc... The troubles here are as complex as Bosnia, go back in history just as far, with deep, deep issues. Yes, the CIA did exert influence to get the President voted out of office. Yes, the Russian FSB did exert influence to keep their crony in office. The FSB lost and the CIA won. What is forgotten is the People of Ukraine, by their vote, wanted to join the EU, wanted to join NATO and for a damn good reason as was shown with the Russian invasion so much so that Finland and Sweden had an 'Oh shit!' moment and immediately joined NATO after sitting on the fence for decades. The Nazi crap is simply that - crap. Yes, there is one battalion that uses the Nazi emblem at times and even has some nazi members. Why? WW2. There were 3 main parties in Ukraine during the war: Pro-Soviet who wanted to keep Soviet status quo. Pro-Nazi who thought Hitler would free Ukraine upon the defeat of the Soviet Union and Pro-Ukraine who fought both other groups for a free and independent Ukraine. The last time I look at the Azov brigade I don't think there were enough Nazi members to form a platoon - compare that with the number of Nazis in America and remember both countries are democracies - meaning - you are free to be what you want even a Nazi. Also, remember the people of Ukraine have been fighting tooth and nail for almost 2 years to keep their country free. You cannot make a People fight no matter how you arm, train or threaten them. By their own blood, sacrifice and will they have shown they do not want to be part of Russia. That in itself should be the final answer to any and all questions and accusations. Everything else is mute and matters not at this point. I compare it to Japan's attack at Pearl Harbor. Hell, you can make the argument that America put Japan in a corner with no other way out, but it mattered not after the attack. EDIT: Personally, I think the Democrats and some Republicans support of the war is indeed because it makes laundering money so damn easy; however, that has nothing to do with the People of Ukraine wanting to be free to choose their own future without being subservient to Russia.

I think we are just returning to the historical norm of unconnected wars all over the place. A lot of these areas have been waiting to fight each other since WWII ended for some and the collapse of the USSR for others.
