Aloha Monkeys, It came to attention that a member has hit on very tough times and is struggling through the next couple paydays... Sudden medical bills sapped the savings and maxed the cards... They have just enough to cover the bills and baby... but they are going through packs and gear and happy to find any food or ramen that is there for themselves... It's even tougher as they have a little one that just made a year old and took their first steps last week.... Don't ask... because I won't share the info... they won't accept monetary gifts and have a great amount of pride in getting through this on their own... Just a wonderful young couple who have have helped others and been so supportive of me and others... All the proceeds will go to sending them care boxes and delivering food for them and their baby... (who by the way loves squash and carrots right now ... just like my little girl) 2 shipments have already been sent.... So here is the deal... I have these mags that are just sitting around as I lost all my "tools" in a tragic boating accident.... M1A 20rd and 10rd and one .45 mag Prefer to just ship in one box.... Make me an offer... not asking for charity... make it a good deal for you too .... you can do it here or privately if you like... If there is a fair offer... I'll accept by or before the end of this long weekend.... otherwise... I'll take the best one by the end of this long weekend. Thanks for looking.... Mods and Admin - if this is not allowed... go ahead and delete.... Have a Wonderful Memorial Day Weekend all!.... don't forget to pause and remember... and give thanks to those who sacrificed everything so you, me and our families could be here.... Take Care and God Bless, Bear
I'll put out some feelers. We're limited by capacity here in CT but I do have a lot of contacts in the M14 world!!! And, one of our guys competes with .45 so we may be able to pull a package together. I'll get back to you if I have any success
I never had an M1A, but if you have to split the lot, I'll take the 45 mag. Bid 40 bux plus shipping for a good cause.
Mahalo @RightHand I appreciate your efforts big time... Take Care and God Bless, Bear Mahalo @ghrit Thanks a bunch... if I need to ... I'll part this out for the cause... I really appreciate this! Take Care and God Bless, Bear
No worries @AxesAreBetter I really appreciate the good wishes... Take Care and God Bless, Bear Mahalo Everyone for the likes and good wishes.... Please I am not looking for charity or handouts... I want this to be a win win for everyone involved... these are literally just sitting so strike yourself a good deal... you never know... And all will go to help out a great young family in need.... Thanks again everyone.... Take Care and God Bless, Bear
We (wife and me) don't need the mags but would like to contribute $250 towards the cause. Bear doesn't choose charitable situations lightly and if he's behind it, I'm sure it's solid and worthy.
Man could get good, a chance to show how each could support and help another, right!!! I'm in Bear how about one of them knives could I get one if I paid double lmao
LOL @Gator 45/70 Let me check on that ... oddly enough I am not sure... sucks getting old and confused Thanks for the interest... Take Care and God Bless, Bear
I'll take one for a hundred As a southern gentleman, I donate it back for resell, This is a tradition,We do all they time, Please PM me an address, Thanks'
My very sincere gratitude and thanks @Gator 45/70 .... PM incoming... You are indeed a Southern Gentleman... and that is the first time I have heard of such an amazing and most generous "Tradition"... I will honor that and promise to embrace it going forward.... Thank you... Take care and God Bless, Sincerely, Bear
Thank you so much @melbo ... we were texting and I forgot to thank you publicly for you generosity and kind words... I will endeavor to live up to your confidence in me and hope to match your compassion daily.... Take Care and God Bless, Sincerely, Bear
Thanks @Pineknot for the kind words and the thought... I did manage to get a pair of titanium chopsticks up quickly... a knife will take me a little longer... let me think on that one a bit.... I'll keep you posted.... Take Care and God Bless, Sincerely Bear
GATOR 45/70 i once bought and resold 7 times a gift bag that cost me (the Company I own) $1700.00. i then let it auction off for $80.00 and let them have it. I too will take a mag for $100.00 and donate back for re-auction. I am trying to get Bear to throw in one of those limited, no longer available knives up for auction!!
Y'all are "Awesome" Monkeys in the truest meaning of the word... Thanks a bunch @Pineknot ... PM incoming.... OK... in appreciation of the "Monkey Kindness"... especially Pineknot's true "Monkey Tenacity" I will go through my list of "Last one I will ever make" knives and decide on one I will make for a good cause auction here... How that Pineknot?... Thanks again everyone here... ALL of you, your thoughts, efforts and kindness are sincerely appreciated... Have a great Day! Take Care and God Bless, Bear
Here you go @Pineknot... as promised... Not a no longer available... but pretty much a never offered... you find some glimpses of a couple that went out in the bushcraft fun thread... I did some cutting tests with one that I made for testing... one is out there for feedback... and one is a huge variant made from a leaf spring with a long handle.... Thanks for your patience and continued interest... I have a design that I believe is a great all around carry knife for the outdoors... These particular blanks that I have profiled... are O-1 high carbon steel... and while your eyes may at first tell you that they are both the same size... the top is the larger/longer of the two and is 5/32" thick... the smaller is slightly smaller and 1/8" thick... I suppose in my old age... I am liking thinner blades for cutting and slicing... my EDC is Victorinox Fieldmaster... Long gone are all those high dollar customs and thick tactical blades... IMHO a knife is for cutting/slicing... use the right tool for the right job with the right technique... and you can do just about anything you want... Mors K. showed how to spit large pieces of wood with just small mora and wood wedges... technique and practice... Ask me what I recommend, be specific about why and you might be surprised with my answers.... Anyway... as promised I'll be putting one or both of these up for the Good Cause Auction right here, when they are done... to help out the young family.... They will be done in a no frills straight forward way... still thinking on that... Thanks again @Pineknot Have a great week! Take Care and God Bless, Bear
Aloha Monkeys, First let me say a heartfelt "Thank you" to all the good thoughts and help sent and given for this good cause... this young family is tearfully grateful for all the help and well wishes. These are still available as those who helped did so with no expectations. When it rains it pours at times and a new landlord and cuts at work for them have complicated things even more... I would like to offer all 10 of these mags for $10 a piece which I believe is a great deal... $Gone to a new home... shipped to anywhere in the USA... Thanks for looking and for all the great wishes and help. Have a great Friday! Take Care and God Bless, Bear
Aloha Monkeys, As I promised @Pineknot ... Here are the finished knives... I made two of them... This model has never been made for sale... Double bevel at 7 degrees... flat saber ground... my personal preference ... Thick kydex... holes are properly spaced for a variety of carry positions... Knives are both unmarked in "sterile" condition.... I will mark or leave unmarked per the final buyers wishes... Both have been heat treated by me and etched to show and prove the Heat Affected Zone... some call the Hamon.... These were to offered at a starting asking price of $100... however I already have a $Gone to a new Home.... offer on each of the knives... PLEASE EITHER POST YOUR OFFER HERE OR PM ME ( IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS) SO THAT I CAN UPDATE THIS FOR FOLKS TO SEE THE CURRENT BID.... THIS WILL BE HELD OPEN THROUGH SUNDAY - FATHER'S DAY JUNE 21, 2015 You can go here to see more pictures and see how they were built step by step....
