Man, I thought I had it bad!
Those Gerber MK-1 and II are outstanding, as is the Arisaka Bayonet, and the M-1919 are always a nice piece of kit to have about!
And Case knives, always nice to have in the pocket!

Could you please explain the second knife to me. It has serrated on both sides. What is that knife used for and why the curve?

The second knife down is a Gerber Mk2. Its an early one, being made in the 70's, I purchased it in 1976. The original story that I heard was it was designed as a fighting knife, like the Fairbairn & Sykes stiletto. Some early UDT members requested the serrations to improve the knifes ability to cut through wet rope, netting and other obstacles one might encounter. The curve you're referring to is called the "wasp" waist and was used to break the suction of the knife in flesh, (such as sentry elimination) so the knife would not stick in the wound. Gerber stopped doing it on the Mk2's for a while, then offered it again. It was and is pretty much designed for one thing, and it's very good at that. It sucked during the jungle survival course, though. Definitely better options for that.
