Bear was kind enough to send me a sort of do-it-yourself knife kit. I drew out and profiled the blade that has been on my mind for some time now but I just can't afford. Can you ID it ?
Big it stands a very good chance of coming out quite similar from the looks of it. Don't forget lots of pictures of the process!
Almost there ! A little more buffing. Just right hardness, a file slides off without marking but I can feel my Arkansas stone cut it My brass came today so I can get my guard cut and soldered into place soon
Great design choice !!!!! White Hunter is a terrific knife.... I met a guy whose father gave him one before he shipped out to Vietnam.... he carried it everyday and used the heck out of it.... he asked me if I could clean it up and do some restoration on it.... he still had it in the original green box it came in.... nice.... Good work.... great to see the pics.....
Holy crap - that you made that from scratch is amazing! That is not a project for a beginner but you did a great job!
Thank you again Bear for the gift of the supplies. The biggest reason I tried the White Hunter was hearing the story about the guy from Nam that you rehabbed the knife for. A little researching and I fell in love with the design.
