TS Idalia is just north of Cuba, and running north. Expected to hit the west coast of Florida Tuesday as a cat 1 hurricane, and pass by me in Tallahassee Wednesday morning. High tidal surged are expected along the Gulf Coast. Hopefully all I get is some rain.
What was the Hurricane that hit Mexico/Califlower? Chopped liver? Just the same, this one could be nasty owing to the shallow waters.
@Seawolf1090 - You ought to watch the weather a bit more...Idalia is being forecast to be a cat 3...possibly 4...when it makes landfall. Big difference than a cat 1.
Seawolf, get that lounge chair and a case of iced down beer ready! I'd be sitting outside in the rain butt naked drinking cold beer.
Old news. Been keeping up to date on it. Hunkered down to wait out the Cat Three that is forcast to hit. With any luck, it may veer more easterly and reduce our impact somewhat. But I'm only twenty miles from the coast, not much time to weaken after landfall.
I've never been "The Florida Man" as in the tired meme. Being old, disabled and unable to drive anywhere, I'm just bunkering down here in the casa. It's an early 1960s cement block house that's seen a few 'canes. And this property doesn't flood. Got my preps, so I'm good. My only worry is my aluminum back patio roof. It might wind up going walkabout.
The aftermath of storms can be worse than the actual storm. Walmart with no power and no clue left pallets of stuff outside to rot during Florence. The stench was horrible. Only thing that made it bearable for me was that I knew it was just chicken.
Latest news says Hurricane Idalia may become Cat 4. Hurricane Idalia forecasted to be 'extremely dangerous' Category 4 at landfall
Looks like Idalia is making landfall near Perry, Fl., east of me. This should reduce the impact Tallahassee feels. CNN Storm Tracker
