The Department of Defense is preparing for a nationwide drill to test the military’s response to a national grid down scenario. The “very bad day” training exercise is slated to begin on Nov. 4, the same day so-called antifascist groups have vowed to kick off potentially violent street protests demanding that President Donald Trump be thrown out of office.

The DOD announced last week that it has a “communications interoperability” test to gauge military readiness for a grid down scenario capable of knocking out communications nationwide.

Amateur Radio and Military Armature Radio organizations will be taking part in the drill.

“This exercise will begin with a national massive coronal mass ejection event which will impact the national power grid as well as all forms of traditional communication, including landline telephone, cellphone, satellite, and Internet connectivity,” Army MARS Program Manager Paul English, WD8DBY, said in a statement.

According to the National Association for Amateur Radio:

During the exercise, a designated DOD Headquarters entity will request county-by-county status reports for the 3,143 US counties and county equivalents, in order to gain situational awareness and to determine the extent of impact of the scenario. Army and Air Force MARS organizations will work in conjunction with the Amateur Radio community, primarily on the 60-meter interoperability channels as well as on HF NVIS frequencies and local VHF and UHF, non-Internet linked Amateur Radio repeaters.

Again this year, a military station on the east coast and the Fort Huachuca, Arizona, HF station will conduct a high-power broadcast on 60-meter channel 1 (5330.5 kHz) on Saturday from 0300 to 0315 UTC. New this year will be an informational broadcast on Sunday, on 13,483.5 kHz USB from 1600 to 1615 UTC. Amateur Radio operators should monitor these broadcasts for more information about the exercise and how they can participate in this communications exercise…

The drill is routine enough. And not unexpected considering growing concern from government about the nation’s ability to withstand communications darkness brought on by an electrical storm or cyberattack.

But this year, the drill will coincide with an effort by Antifa groups to create nationwide unrest.

A group dubbed Refuse Fascism recently announced that it plans to hold massive protests throughout the nation starting on Nov. 4. According to a lengthy post published on a U.S. Communist Party website, the group is hoping that the events will snowball into a movement which will spur “regime change” to remove President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from the White House.

Here’s an excerpt from the apparent call to action published under the name Andy Zee, supposedly a member of the advisory board of Refuse Fascism:

We will gather in the streets and public squares of cities and towns across this country, at first many thousands declaring that this whole regime is illegitimate and that we will not stop until our single demand is met: This Nightmare Must End: the Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!

Our protest must grow day after day and night after night—thousands becoming hundreds of thousands, and then millions—determined to act to put a stop to the grave danger that the Trump/Pence Regime poses to the world by demanding that this whole regime be removed from power.

The coincidence has some Americans wondering whether a false flag is in the nation’s near future.

Alaska will operate on the Alaska Emergecy Frequency of 5167.5Khz USB where ANY FCC Licensed Station can communicate with ANY other Licensed Station, as well as .Gov Stations located inside Alaska, or Alaskan Waters, or AirSpace...

Well at least they'll have the jump on things if it isn't a drill.

There's nothing wrong with being paranoid. Fear and paranoia has kept this old monkey alive more than once. And, what's the old saying, something like 'just because I am paranoid it doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.' I will stay paranoid, thank you very much - and alive.

It does strike me to be an unusual coincidence. I make note of things like this now after the coincidence of the emergency drill that was going on 9/11 and again with the Brits 7/7... Coincidence?

The utter insanity and embecility of these Antipantyfas is truly mindboggling. How can so many be so stupid?
Whether a false flag event or not, I plan to bug in here at home, and see to my own defense.

This “communications interoperability” test has made me think. One of the interesting things is the timing, but the more interesting thing is the "drill" itself.

“This exercise will begin with a national massive coronal mass ejection event which will impact the national power grid as well as all forms of traditional communication, including landline telephone, cellphone, satellite, and Internet connectivity,” Army MARS Program Manager Paul English, WD8DBY, said in a statement. "

Could this be a ruse to get as many hams as possible of the air before a known emp strike? Think about (as noted above) what has happened during other drills. There are factions of the government and/or the so called "deep state" that don't really like the idea of the masses being able to communicate, without the ability to track and eavesdrop on them. An emp strike during this drill would be a great way to disable the equipment of many hams. Sure some on here have something put away in a Faraday cage, but is it equivalent to your best gear? Got to think that many that are not necessarily "preppers" might not have much if any equipment put away.

Just a thought I had. I'm not a ham, but I will have all of my 11 meter junk safely disconnected and put away, just in case.

Drill and Prepared might be the same thing! Hum...............
Strange it seems! A terror group plans some big action, the Russian revolution anniversary, something been in the plans for a while with Nov. 4th being whispered about for the last 6 months or so..........
And I'm on the road back and forth to the east coast, bad timing on my part me thinks, but I got some tricks up my sleeves, hoping I don't need them!

The scenario our hospital gets is total power grid outage, starting at hour 72, being that hospitals must have 96 hours of generation capability. We will be tasked with community support and influxes of injured. During our meeting on this I asked about food, since we get daily deliveries, and was quickly dismissed because this drill was about power and not food. Hmmm. I also asked about drug deliveries since we get those twice a week, and again was shut down and told that our focus was on power and patient care. That's when I told them that since this was fantasy, I would hop on down to nuclear medicine and whip up a reactor so power wouldn't be an issue. I was told that if I couldn't be serious I should leave.
We have been told to have all communications operating as the scenario involves failures of some or all of these systems. We have Ham, county fire and police (P-25), DHEC (Dept of Health and Environmental Control, also a P-25 system) Ambulance (just recently moved to P-25, see a trend here?) and a paging system and an on-site DMR repeater. They sure ain't gonna like me during this exercise when I start pointing out real world stuff...

Yeah unfortunately I will be a good distance from home at drill weekend. At least I would be ok for a time but arranging travel home would be difficult. Sometimes I fly and sometimes I drive. This is my last flight of the year until spring because I usually drive in the winter.

It would be the perfect moment to actually pose an attack, insuring that all emergency communications are on line.

Until this thread, I'd never heard of that organization. The link associates it with the ARRL, but I'm beginning to smell dead rodents.

Maybe they had all their antennas connected when the simulated CME struck, so now the radio gear is melted to the table?

Nope, that is NOT the case for the FCC Manned Sites... They are Protected from that kind of issue, as I was trained as a Watch Stander, at their FEMA Regional Site, that was .5 Miles from my Old Home in Washington State.. And they have remote deployable Backup Verticle Antennas, that are Underground, Normally, that only take a few minutes to get in operation...

From here, whatever they are simulating is completely invisible. Nothing on hf, vhf, or uhf at this time.
