One of the chatters in a room I have was asking for suggestions on how to boost the calorie content of military Extreme Cold Weather meals. Now he's a big eater and want a 2500-3000 calorie meal when he repacks them. I suggested pemmican and a few Datrex bars but beyond that I drew a blank. When I asked in Shoutbox I was urged to start a thread on it. So here are the requirements he stated to me. Minimum three year shelf life. High calorie. High protein a plus. Compact with high nutritional value to size. No heating required. Hopefully the more experienced here will have better suggestions for him than I did. Thanks in advance.
if he is in a extreme cold environment add fat, it won't go rancid for a while in the cold. It has more calories per oz and it makes all food taste better. Coco does have fat in it.
