I just heard on fox news were california is paying over $5000.00 per month for each tent they are supplying the homeless. Thats just about as crazy as things can get. What is this once great nation becoming? What a waste of gov money.

Does california pay for their drugs,i bet they do. I wish someone would check into that. California does not put out that kind of money on our U.S.A. veterans you know.

California is financially broke and Bidumb with his bogus infrastructure bill (not) has most of the money going to bail out States like Kilifornia that spend on crap like this. 5 K for a tent I have a 6 man tent I paid less than 200 bucks for ---Newsome must be getting a hefty kick back.

Oregon is paying $4000 per month per person to house homeless in hotels here. Talking with a couple of city police officers, this? COme On those costs include rehab, food and clothing, and medical care/intervention, and mental health services, Normally, I would question such a high cost per person, but then, those "Public Servants" involved in this are some very highly paid people, so I would say half the cost in in paying them! You know, the $300 per hour mental health specialists, and the drugs used to bring them down easy are not cheap!

Now, imagine if Law Enforcement applied that kind of budget toward blocking the flow of narcotics through the state!!!!
All the homeless are getting their drugs somewhere from some one, and in all this time, we havn't done anything to address, Come On, lets get going on stopping the drugs!

Prohibition was a clear example -- when the people want something laws or no laws there will be those that supply the demand. When people stop using drugs then and only then will the trafficking stop. We have spent millions and millions (probably trillions) of dollars trying to stop the flow of drugs and we are no closer to stopping now or 30 years ago. My view and many will say how callous --you want to use drugs and kill yourself go for it.

The whole problem with the drugs isn't the junkies themselves, it's all the crime and shit they do to everyone down stream!
First they get hooked, they spend all their income to feed the habit, they loose their home, family, friends, everything, and yet, they keep feeding the monster! Then they become homeless, and start stealing to continue to feel the habit, sooner or later, they become violent because the monster needs to be fed, and they cannot keep up, so they hurt or kill to take what they need! Some times they beat the monster, sometimes the monster beats them and they ether overdose, or kill themselves anyway! Some times, they do the final deed before they loose everything, usually spray painting the walls and carpet in the process, and that just makes it worse for any family, The monster always wins in the end, and we all suffer for it!
What happens when some one tries to step in and help them, now you have people vested in helping some one fighting the monster, some times they win, some times they loose! What about the expense of helping, the costs of medical care, substitutes to get a person off the hard stuff, other meds to help them through and get better what about housing, counciling, and after care, who pays for all that, you and I once again, causing suffering to everyone else! The war on drugs isn't a failure when you go after the source, the traffic, and the distribution networks, hit them hard, pound them into the dirt and drive them out! Take it all away and you start to win! Keep doing what they are doing now, and you will never stop the drugs, and you can never win!

So, how do we actually win the war on drugs?
First, Close the God Damn Border, raid the farms and labs where the shit starts out, if that means invading Mexico, or central America, fuck them, do it, it's a matter of national security! Second, kill the drug tzars and cartels, kill their leadership and their chain of operatives, again, national security! Track down their trafficking operations, again, kill them till they are dead! Track down the import, destroy it, kill anyone importing it! Track the distributers on the streets, kill them too till their dead! Find who is making shit here, who is selling them the chemicals, and who is moving it, kill those muthatruckers too!
Time to yank the gloves off, quit stalling in the courts and the revolving door policing, kill them and we don't have a problem after a while!

^^^ that would do the cull instead of the JAB and WUFLU bs.

Seen a kid rob his house till the house had to kick him away and then he passed after killing the hearts of the house.
The House is now getting back in order.

Ever go to an AlAon meeting? Heartbreaking stories told about violence, $$$, general distress....especially for folks who are trying to "help" the user. They really have to hit bottom and be willing and committed to change their lives.

Absolutely correct you can not help someone who does not want to change be it drugs, alcohol or whatever addiction. First wife came from a family --father was an alcoholic --wife was on the road to alcoholism, I could see the hand writing on the wall. Tried to get her to see --no dice. We got a divorce and it was many years later I heard she hit rock bottom and got herself in AA in her 40's and 2 more marriages later.
