PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WWSB) - Yes, you read the headline correctly. A Florida woman says lightning destroyed her septic tank and caused a toilet in her house to explode, according to the Associated Press. VIRAL: ‘No more pooping while it’s storming outside’ after a Florida woman says her toilet exploded from lightning Severe Thunderstorm Monitor for Port Charlotte, FL 33954
Wasn't that uncommon in 1940's for lightning to hit vent stack, metal pipe, follow it down to toilet or sink, follow that down the cast iron drain pipe or metal pipe to either septic or well. Happened to an Uncle in about 1946, could stand in kitchen and look out thru the hole in the bathroom wall. Plaster was blown away from wall and well pump fried.
Never have been there, but have had friends that hunted and back packed into the mountains and they had a very high respect, perhaps fear would be a better word, for lightning and the high country. Have been repairing fence when the static charge built up high enough to both wake me up and I quit for the day. There was a gusty wind, but the storm and its clouds were still several miles away.

LOL, not really a joke but kinda funny none the less. Mom always said don't sit in there forever. The Navy gave me (what) 5 minutes to shit, shower, and shave. If you get blown up while pooping, It was your time to go.
