BarSto is producing a run of 9mm Barrels for the Browning Hi Power starting now. This is a once a year event. Still you may wait weeks if you call soon. !! I have no business or personal involvement with Bar-Sto Precision "Good Morning, we are running BHP right now and they are going to be roughly 14-16 weeks, Give us a call to place your order, 605-720-4000. Andy and Melissa" Buy the best, buy Bar-Sto Precision.
Having a "Throw-away" Barrel for ANY weapon, in this day and age, that can't be traced back to you, is a VERY Smart Idea. ...... YMMV.....
Matching up dates you can see it has ony been 8 weeks. Barrel arrived Friday but I was not home so I had to pick it up at USPS on Monday. Fitting to the slide was perfect. All I had to do was remove about .005 from the bottom lug and this allowed the slide and frame to slide on easily. Not been shot yet but no problem, it cycles with my test rounds. "Having a "Throw-away" Barrel for ANY weapon, in this day and age, that can't be traced back to you, is a VERY Smart Idea. ...... YMMV....." Older weapons did not come with empty brass or recorded slugs. The good old days.
Having my old faithful 1911 and a box of surplus barrels and other assorted parts would mean this old fart could "stack looters like cordwood",as another old fart just said, in someone else's yard. I don't own a backhoe you see.
For my Sig 226, I stay with the factory barrels, they run about $20.00 cheaper than Bar-Sto and Midway USA constantly has the Sig barrels in stock. As for the accuracy of the Bar-Sto over the Sig factory barrels, I don't think there would be much of a difference.
After 40 years and thousands of rounds I figured to retread the old war horse. Now I have a spare barrel to replace the one in another gun, a real old Hi Power. Not to mention that most older HiPowers had a two part barrel.
Bar-Sto is currently the only source for a barrel that converts a .40S&W Browning Hi-Power to 9mm. I like the idea of being able to use more calibers without packing another whole gun. If you are considering throw-away barrels you should also consider extra slides to get rid of the marks they leave on the empty cases.
You might want to purchase the .22 coinversion too. I did, for my Sig 226. Also a brownell's Carry case for this combo. HK
I am a firm believer in .22 conversion units. They are hard to find for the BHP, not impossible just hard.
