Sorry about that. I guess my eyes aren't what they used to be. It appeared to be an ancient arrowhead. My sister has collected them for several decades.

Not a real dig when I go out hunting around areas that have arrow heads or shed teeth bone I am always looking

I metal detect and arrow Head hunt look for bottles most of the stuff I look for depending on where I am looking you can be arrested and fined I don't dig up Indian burial mounds but know people who do

I found the tooth on the river bank there was a lot of broken teeth and three good ones one about 4 inches long

Cool Bishop. I like metal detecting myself. I don't get the time to go often , but I've got plenty of gear to with when I get the time. And I'm by far , not an experienced 'tectorist. What's your go to rig ?

My sister found hers on family property she owns, that has been handed down generation to generation. Never thought to ask if they had been burial grounds way back when. This is in South Georgia.

I started detecting around '09. For some reason I just started buying detectors looking for the next miracle detector. At least I've got enough to get me all the way thru retirement years , and then some.
That's some really nice arrowheads your friend makes , that is definetly an art there.

Metal detecting is part luck and part understanding people a lot of people think that you will find a lot of stuff by swing sets and you can but in what I call the wash out area that's where the kids drag there feet and hump up dirt out past the swing sets the best area are where kids hang upside down that's where the change and necklaces are dirt parking lots are where you find it all from where people reach into there pocket to get keys and stuff fall out

When I was a Professional Ski Patrolman, (4+ Decades ago) every spring we would walk the ChairLift Routes, and made a fair afternoon Change Collection, just looking for the Holes in the snow, where the Coins would heat up in the Spring Sun, and melt holes, down thru the snow... No need for a metal detector, just a sharp Eye... I found a couple of Twenties, on a few occasions, as well....
