AND A HERE WE GO!...Climate treaty ushers in global govt O-man to sign away us sovereignty ?? Here's the video description: On October 14th 2009, Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change expert, gave a presentation at Bethel college in St. Paul, MN in which he issued a dire warning regarding the United Nations Climate Change Treaty which is scheduled to be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddQvhdCyhe4&feature=player_embedded Much ado about nothing or call to arms ????
firstly, there's no treaty yet, the Copenhagen conference is where its supposed to be written. at most he could have read one proposal from one country.(or possibly read many proposals from many countries to find the one that would generate the most controversy, but he would never do that, eh?) secondly, Lord Christopher Monckton was an adviser to thatcher, wrote an incredibly dishonest "scientifically reviewed" paper on global warming, is an avowed supporter of the "new right", and belives that everyone should be tested yearly for AIDS and everyone who comes back positive should be invouluntaraly and permanently quarantened. his record is more then enough to discredit anything he says. thirdly, i so very much wish people would stop using "communist" as a synonym for "everyone left of the blue dogs".
Well IMHO no single large bill or agreement l is ever hammered out from scratch at something like this. It would be imposssible to reach consensus on thoudsands of pages among hundresd of representatives. fromdifferent countries. I believe it is basicallywritten but have absolutely no proof!. I can't vouch for Monckton, but this talk was on our local A.M. talk radio this morning.. Well What would you and your commrades prefer? Kinda splittin' hairs aren't we? What's "right-er" than a communist but "left-er" than a conservative?
im sure there are many many treaties written. probably at least one per nation that plans to attend. depends where on the planet you're standing. conservatism is a somewhat relative term. conservatives generally believe that things are good as they are and we should not make any major changes to society, OR that things were better in the recent past and we should attempt to move backwards(though, they probably wouldn't phrase it that way). thus, conservatism carries different definitions in countries that are sitting on different points of the ideological spectrum. American Conservatism is fairly hard to the right on a global scale, so theres a lot of room between it and communism. some examples being, the social moderates(the bulk of the Democratic Party. formerly the bulk of the republican party as well, but mostly displaced there by NeoCons and religious ideolouges), progressive Democrats, social democrats(the little 'd' ideological system, not the dig 'D' party.), anti-revolutionary socialists, the greens, and assorted single/several issue activist groups.
Guess there are many spots on that continuum.. Sorry for the attitude I forgot my meds today : I take preparation "H" because I can be an "azzhole"
