Goodness....it's not even a recent hoax. Fact Check: Are Weapons Being Shipped to America, Disguised as Furniture? No, border guards didn’t seize guns and ammo from Muslims but like many hoaxes, there are always some credulous souls who'll keep it alive.
Take any major city and a roll of cash and you can find guns or drugs or all kinds of trouble! I think of all the sealed trailers ive hauled and dropped in obscure places. Who knows what was inside.
I bet I could take 5 hundred bucks and a couple hours max and find at least an AK in decent working shape with ammo, still packed in grease! Or...........Couple of Glocks, ammo and mags!

In England they seem to be doing quite well with sticks and knives, if you remove guns from the mix, the next most common weapon will replace it and the only effect is that it is now very effective against the sheeple.
Really sorry about that, but the shock value of first being told something like that sounds plausible so you run with it and then to find late that it was a hoax is relieving and disappointing at the same time I had been duped. So much of that can be perpetrated anywhere online.
I thought it was going to have a punchline like "We found all those weapons you people lost in boating accidents!!"
This thread has been worth your post on its own. The shock value of the article ought to have been a red flag, for those whose wish fulfillment of it being true is high. Yes, the inter-webs is riddled with hoaxes, parodies and other forms of misinformation and deception. Skepticism and fact checking things that one wants to believe to be true is highly recommended.

Fly a private airplane and most small airports are ghost towns. aint nobody there. Let alone small private dirt airstrips. All this making stuff illegal and thinking it will all stop stuff is naive.
