Bearing in mind that this is an Australian YouTube channel, reflecting Australian circumstances...a number of these fruits and vegetables could be grown in other climates and growing zones around the world. Although some fruits and vegetables such as Dragonfruit and Bitter Gourd may not be sold in major supermarkets, they can be found in specialty Asian garden produce stores.

I like a number of these varieties because they don't readily resemble some of the more staple produce varieties, and readily lend themselves to stealth or guerilla gardening...that could be a plus in some situations when looters may not recognise those plants as food, or may be reluctant to chance unfamiliar plants which they may fear may be toxic / poisonous. Some plants just look like weeds...yet are wholesome to eat, or are hiding as tubers underground.
