    I think the electric companiess are out to get the candle companies!
    Just to make you use more electricity!
    Look at the warning lables on candles come on what dumbass would do that?!

    They dont want you to be able to see at night with out using electricity.
    Its a conspericy against the candle I tell you!

    Just got done with the fourth coat of paint. I'm putting a custom job on a BMX.

    This project is a little (okay... a lot) more time-intensive than I originally planned. I'm only up to 600g sanding, on my way to 1500.

    I'm hoping for a nice opalescent over black. Cross your fingers! :)

    "I feel your pain." Flurries all day yesterday and more to come. (But the grass is greening up and the crocus are showing. So are the dandelions, looks like a bumper crop this year.)

    Hey Righthand,

    it's all that global warming man! el nino area in pacific has shrunk, and atlantic is cooler this year. huricane forecasts are for a much more subdued season. everything is getting cooler. damn that global warning! before long we will be up to our assholes in ice and polar bears.

    don't drink the kool-aid

    was 34 degrees here in gainesville fl yesterday morning.

    Please remind me that sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut...or your fingers still, in this instance...

    Someone that is on my Parrothead board, is also on a specific gun related board...and started a thread asking if people had a choice would they choose: A) Anarchy, or B)Totalitarianism....So far the A's have it...

    Stupid stupid me...I had to go and ask them what they would do to prepare for Anarchy....Yeah, ask a bunch of parrotheads that and the answer will be to stock up on Rum. :lol:

    There are quite a few like minded folks over there...but so far none of them have shown up for this conversation....

    This ought to be interesting.... :)

    I had several run-ins with a few men this evening. Last week, the power company asked for my permission to cut a half dozen trees that might fall onto power lines. I signed the papers giving permission and the tree cutters arrived this morning. They were cutting when I left the house about 7:30am.

    Tonight, pickup trucks kept stopping to haul off the downed trees. When each one stopped and started loading their trucks, I went out and asked them to leave the wood as I planned to use it. They all said the tree cutters said to go ahead and take it. I tried to be polite in explaining that the trees were cut from my property and the downed wood was also on my property and the wood was therefore mine. The power company had acknowledged the trees were on my property. A few of them got pretty ugly. One called me a bitch so when he came back again, I took Apollo out with me to reinforce my point of view. My position is that it is no different than if someone took a chain saw into my woods and began cutting and hauling.

    I have a friend coming by tomorrow morning with a lift gate on his truck to help me move the logs.

    I wonder if it will still be there in the morning? [rnt]

    Imagine how ugly it would have gotten if this occurred during one of the survival emergencies we talk about and for which we try to prepare.

    RH, I know the feeling. The "tree trimming crew" showed up at my house one day, unannounced. I was at work, so was the wife, the MIL was at home watching the kids and called me. Told me "someone said" he was with MLGW and wanted access to the backyard to trim a tree. He had no MLGW ID, his shirt was a mess, and she was panicing.

    I told her to tell them "No access is granted until they can be verified they are with MLGW. Show some identification or the police will be called." Next thing she heard was chainsaws in the backyard.

    Soon after I was on the phone with a manager at MLGW and very furious that they would trespass onto private property after they were denied permission. He apologized and said that they had "contracted" with a private company, my response was that was no excuse for them not having valid ID and someone looking professional enough to approach a residence to make the person there feel at ease.

    Needless to say, if next year they think they can get access to the backyard without me being there, they are mistaken. And if my fence is damaged when they try to get back there, heads will roll!!!

    OK, that's my little rant
