It's funny how the same old day to day nothingness tends to depress a person and make them (read: me) kinda withdraw from life, and how the little stuff can sometimes seem like huge obstacles. I just heard from my doctor, I had a lump in my chest that he had me get a ct scan on, and the results came back that it was just a little fatty tissue. I gotta admit, though, I was really starting to sweat it. It's amazing how a little mortality reminder like that can affect your attitude. It puts the little things that seemed big, back in perspective. I know there must be others here who have had that same little reality check. I think I'm gonna go fishing tomorrow.
I'm glad you ok,BJ go catch some fish, I have been there twice and I try to live it like its my last when i can.
Aye I've been there....done that too. Sometimes it's hard to see the wood for the trees though. I've had a few close reminders recently which made me and the family prepare some more, but it's hard to keep that level of enthusiasm for life and that level of up'ness' going for long periods of time in this present climate, I find.
I'm glad that you're okay, Blackjack! Sometimes life has a funny way of showing us the silver lining in our seemingly cloudy world.
I had a recent diagnosis of the big "C". It took awhile to come to grips with the fact that I had to have it surgically removed, but.... I have to tell you it scared me out of 20 years! No one knows why it appeared and the location is still a mystery.... On my right cheek, just under where my sideburns grew. I live in the "Valley of the Sun", but I have more exposure to my arms and neck when outside. I may never know, but it made me think. You suddenly realize just how mortal we all are.......... Bill
"basel cell carcinoma? Those are famous for sun exposed areas nose ears/neck...Also met that guy a while ago...I wear a brimmed hat and use lots of sunblock now...Hope they got all of it for you..
So far, so good, those VA doctors did a great job! I was told there wasn't much they could do about the scar..... I said: first, I'm too old to care about scars.... second, I hear the ladies dig scars! (on men anyway!) Then we had a wonderful discussion about dissolving sutures and 0000 chromic! I think he was wondering: "what the he--"? You never know what your patients are going to ask and talk about! Thanks all! Keep well all! Bill
Blackjack pack up that fishing pole and head out here and give this steelhead fishing a shot. Melbo and I went and the lucky SOB caught a 42+ incher for his first.
I've always wanted to catch Steelhead......... be careful, I really may take you up on that one of these days.
