Personally, I don't think it is a fringe idea at all. It makes perfect sense and if you follow the logic, it is something Canadians should investigate. It would benefit Canadians greatly and America would benefit from the natural resources. It's a win-win for both countries. I get it, Canadians don't want to join. Fine! I don't think it's a logical decision, more an emotional one, but fine. Now, is Canadian going to let Alberta go? No chance in hell and I don't care if the people Alberta want it, vote for it, or wring their hands and scream for it for the Canadian powers, the elites, would never, NEVER let Alberta go. Yeah, I think it makes perfect sense for all parties. EDIT: It will be interesting to see if Trump meets with them... EDIT: I do think this guy is very naive if he thinks Alberta with all that oil would be allowed to leave Canada (and I don't give a damn what their laws state) because the Canadian government knows if Alberta was allowed to leave then it would probably be followed by other provinces like Saskatchewan...

I am of the opinion that what is needed to prevent the masses in big cities from ruling over the state is to set up a electoral like college by counties... and then let the counties decide on different legislation that would give the less populated rural areas more of a voice in their own life and laws... so if there are 20 counties and 11 vote for or against that would decide the issue... OH and we do NOT have a democracy... and have never had one... it's a republic... it has been said democracy is 2 wolves and 1 sheep voting for what's for lunch...
I read somewhere about a poll taken in Canada about our recent election in 2024. I realize polls are usually manipulated to get the desired results, but a large majority of Canadians said they would vote for Harris if they could. We don't need anymore of those.

OMG! Really? Who in their right mind could even consider that an option. I find this frightening if true. As archaic and possibly as unjust as this sounds, I support the idea. I would also tie that idea with those that served in the military. Why? I do not agree with those having the vote that in truth don't deserve it, sounds horrid, I know but I think many shouldn't have the vote. For example, people that are on State or Federal assistance, or those that never finished high school and there are numerous other groups that I do not think should have a say in the country. Anyway, that's a different topic...
