I used to hunt squirrel wearing a red plaid quilted flannel shirt. The plaid breaks up the pattern, and most animals don't see color. It works.

 

And Fred knew what he was talking about. He used to sneak up on does and reach out with the tip of his bow and tap them on the butt.

Though, there was that one time he snuck up on a bear to do the same thing. Only when he was too close did he realize that that wasn't any old garden variety bear. It was a grizzly, and he'd left the .44 Mag back on the horse. He was pretty sure he couldn't sneak back the way he'd come without the bear alerting. So, he did the best thing he could under the circumstances. He shot it with an arrow. Killed it. It was the only way he could think of at the time to stay alive.
