In defense of the Airforce (my first hitch was Airforce), that keyboard could rain destruction upon multiple cities. (y)

My grandfather told me a 1880's joke that is very relevant to the economy today.

Two farmers were in a bar and complaining about the price of feed for their horses.

The next Saturday night they were at the same bar.
One said: I found a way to cut down on my expenses for horse feed.
The second one asked : What is it?
The first said : I was feeding my horses and I spilled some grain on the floor. I swept it up along with some sawdust and gave it to the horses and they ate it.

Next Saturday night they were again at the same bar.
The second one asked : How are the horses doing?
The first said, :Great, I now am feeding them 50 % grain and 50% sawdust and nothing has changed except I am saving money on the grain.

A few Saturday's went by and they ran into each other at the same bar.
The second farmer was interested in how the horses were doing and asked : How are the horses doing?
The first farmer said : Not good. Just when I had them trained to eat straight sawdust and saved all the money for the grain, they up and died on me..

Change the horses into the economy and sawdust into debt. That was the lesson in 1880 and it has not changed.

    Another 1880's joke.

A farmer had jury duty and had to go to the county seat. Since it was a 4 hour drive, he had to stay for the week He needed to keep his horses in the livery stable for a week and have them fed, so he was getting prices.

He asked the stable hand: How much for the oats?
The stable hand said: $1 a bushel.

He thought that was a lot of money and asked: Do you have anything cheaper?
The stable hand said: Yes he had some upstairs that were a year old and a little dusty that he could have for 75 cents a bushel.

He asked : Do you have anything cheaper?
The stable hand said : Yes we had some that was spilled and when we swept it up we got quite a bit of straw in it and it was 50 cents a bushel.

He figured he was on a roll and asked: Do you have any cheaper?
The stable hand said : Yes we have some out back that are 25 cents a bushel.
He asked : Whats wrong with them?
The stableman said: They have been thru the horse once.

Grandad said that the federal reserve note had been thru the horse several times and that was in 1948. It has not improved with time,
