I have been putting it off for years and years about buying one. I'm now in the market to get one or two maybe three!! Mostly I was told the wait time went down. I also got to shoot a co-workers on his AR-15 in 223. We were not shooting special round not what I would say comfortable if you did a magazine dump but a hell of a lot better then without it said he paid $500 for it.

I'm looking almost at a buy once cry once deal here if I'm going to buy one might as well buy a rifle, pistol and rimfire suppressor.

Why rimfire suppressor as I know a rifle will hold up and I assume could be wrong don't know everything but I should be able to fire 22 rimfire though my pistol suppressor? Or I'm I wrong?

I'm looking at the rimfire suppressor because I would like a dedicated rimfire suppressor. I'm always always up to hearing other opinions!

So at least the two I know I want is a suppressor for 30 caliber- 22 for rifle. Weapon it would mostly be used on is a AR-300 pistol with a 7.5 inch barrel. Also a 12 inch 5.56 barrel but I use a conversion kit from 5.56 to 22LR mostly with that one.

Pistol suppressor I do shoot large caliber most favorite is 45 ACP/LC. I don't see myself going to a 50 caliber and wanting it suppressor for it!
Pistols it's going to be used on would be Glock 17/19- Ruger Redhawk 45LC/ACP with a 4 inch barrel.

I'd like to hear advice just about anything that you wish to tell me about how I should choose a suppressor. My largest pistol()is a 30 caliber 7.5 inch barrel AR pistol in 300 blk.

So my rifle suppressor does not need to be ultra light weight or anything fancy works on caliber- from 22-30 caliber is most optimal. This suppressor I'm willing to pay more money for then the rest. I'm not loaded so if it is $2k+ I'm not going to be able to afford that and everything else I want being the pistol suppressor and rimfire.

I'd like to hear options! Any company I should look at? I'm ready to learn so please give me your knowledge!

Sorry if my spelling and grammar sucks! I know and I try to write to improve it! Long not always the best! Yet I'm learning LD and head injury during service.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that a multi caliber suppressor will work well on all the calibers. they DO NOT!
The issue is that for the suppressor to work well, it needs to be tight to a specific caliber, and not a one size fits all,, and that is where things get expensive. but it does matter!

A .22 specific unit will really only work with that caliber, and no or very few others, it's a pressure issue, most .22 cans are not built to handle the higher pressures beyond .22, and while you could spec a .223 or 5.56 spec can, it will not do very well on a .22, this is also a pressure issue!
Pistol caliber cans do not generally work well with rifle calibers, again, it's a pressure issue, and the other thing you have to remember, like above, the bore needs to match the caliber closely for it to work well, and not gass you out! There are some very advanced Blow Through designs that mitigate the gas blow back issues, which on semi auto rifles and some pistols can be a nightmare to deal with, but those cans are usually very expensive, and depending on type of rifle action and caliber, might not be worth the expense! Also keep in mind, for most semi auto pistols, you need a muzzle device/booster or the pistol becomes a single shot and will not cycle!

Beyond all that, there are a gizillion choices out there, some far superior to others, and you need to research which ones work for a specific caliber and which don't! There is also the type of construction, mono core, vs baffles,, and type of baffles, and then there are wipes, and what they are made of! Lastly, what the can is physically constructed from, aluminum will usually work with pistol calibers and some rifle, but the high power stuff really needs to be either Steel or Titanium, which effects cost, but it's a serious consideration! As to recommendations, I don't really push for any one brand, and as someone who had built his own due to 30+years experience running and gunning for real, there are things I demand out of my cans, few are available from comercial manufactures that meet my needs, but the one I would absolutely look for is a Reflex type Can, they are Rare, but if you can find one, GRAB IT! The other thing I absolutely must have is the Original Hiram MAXXIM design baffles, and not the "K" cup designs, while many of them work, none can match the MAXXIM no matter what they are made of, who made them, or any other factor!!

How about start with a 22 rimfire silencer.
What do you want it to do?
    Be small?
    Lightweight?
    Absolute quietness?
    Sealed or cleanable?
    Easy to clean?

i have a couple sdn6 aac cans. i use them on 10/22,cp33, 300 blk ,308 and 556. i dont know the db readings but i can shoot 22 inside. using subsonic 22 rounds. pretty quiet. 300 blk with same can and sub ammo is amazing. 308 and 556 i still use earplugs.
7 pistol/rifles use the same can. buy the gucci 22 subsonic ammo and they all run good. keep them clean.
if you can aford a 22 can and a 30 can that would be best,,,, but in 22 i get good results with good ammo in my 30 can. the cp33 with the can is alot of gun. mp5ish.
    i load the rest.
    in minecraft.

You won't be suppressing the Red Hawk, cylinder gap is going to be your problem. So unless you have something else that runs 45 caliber, It sounds like you need 2 cans: 22lr/223 and a 30 cal.

Looking forward to an NFA repeal and "hearing conservation" retry. I'm not even keeping tabs on it due to the corruption, so maybe later this year we can see something new.

Thank you! You gave me a little to think about. So question for you. If I want to suppress a lever action in 357 or 45 I would need to buy a rifle suppressor?

I know I'm asking a lot with this one but do you know the decibel difference between a caliber shot with a dedicated suppressor vs the ones that you can use on several different caliber?

I'm mostly buying this suppressor for the AR-300 blk as how well do 223 suppressor work in an AR system? Does it get quite enough to shoot without hearing protection?

Pistol caliber I feel it would mostly be on the lever action rifle in 357 mag or 45 LC. Pistol wise I would most likely on my 45 ACP.

Yeah, me too. I figure if it's going to happen it will be this year as the ATF has drawn so much attention to itself with it's basically stupid and unlawful actions that I see them getting hammered from the new administration. I wish they would be eliminated as a lesson to all the other agencies that abuse their powers but alas, I believe that is doubtful.

A 9mm and 45acp silencer without a Nelson device would be fine for a 357mag rifle and 45lc lever gun.

Doing something like using a 9mm silencer on something like a 30carbine won't be anywhere close to hearing safe. Probably same goes for a 9mm on 300blk.

Rebel Silencers had a series they made where you can add or subtract baffles, making them truly versatile and able to cover a wide range of calibers...

But they went out of business. So, that's that.

I have a silencer central banish 30 on my 5.56, its prettt quiet. Real quiet on a .243 bolt gun and near silent with a .300 blackout subsonic. Ordered it online, did 4 payments and was shipped to my door. Dont know if i would do more business with them, but it is a good unit.
