Mr. James Carter, former president of our nation, passed today at the age of 100. I did not vote for him and many dismiss him as the most ineffectual president in history, yet I always knew him as an honorable and good man, too good to lead a country so imbedded in the military industrial complex and the puppet masters that pulled the strings. Mr. Carter, you were a true gentleman and honorable man, Thank you for your service.
I've often used him as a comparison to Trump. Let me explain, I think he was a very decent and good man. But a lousy president. Trump may not be a nice guy but he was a damn fine president. Carter was the first presidential election I was involved in. I was a tad too young to vote but I would have voted for him. Of course at that time my entire family were 1950s, Eisenhower democrats.
I honestly don't know how I feel about him. I don't believe he was a good president, in fact, he was pretty bad. I was in the military when the Iranian hostage rescue attempt went Tango Uniform (Operation Eagle Claw) and the fact he refused to press on lowered my opinion of him as my Commander. I do remember our military was operating on a shoestring budget, at least it felt like it. People seem to have nice things to say about him, so I assume he was a good man just the wrong man for the job. Honestly, I don't have anything to say, good or bad, about him but I am glad he was voted out. Hell, maybe he was too! He lived until he was 100 and I remember I saw his signed photograph in a hut in Nepal so, yeah, he had a very full life. At the very least, I never heard anything corrupt about him and he must be happy that Biden has replaced him as the worse President ever...as if that corrupt SOB gives a damn.
I voted for him and came to regret i!. Carter was the last Democrat that I voted for! Still, he was a good man!
The mission was called off because upon reaching Desert One they didn't have the required number of operational aircraft to complete the mission. To have continued would have been a politician sacrificing men's lives in order to get reelected, and thankfully Carter was a better man than that!
I recall a 1991 book by Pat Robertson entitled The New World Order, and in it he describes how Carter's cabinet was hand-picked by some very powerful people and Carter didn't have a choice. We should bear in mind how Robertson was always involved in politics and was rather ambitious. Any way, it wasn't long ago that Robertson passed, it was just last summer at the age of 93. The Christian movement also ushered in not one Bush, but two of them. Carter had the misfortune of being very naive about the true political climate during the depths of the Cold War. He lived a long life, triple digits isn't bad at all.
I'm too young to have voted for Carter, but Did get to vote him OUT! I don't really have an opinion of the man, but my observations of him AFTER his presidency, I would say, He was An AWFUL POTUS, but a hell of a Statesman, doing much to further goodness in the world, especially As the Iron Curtain was collapsing! Somethings to remember here, ( I have posted this before) The Military was in a Moras during the 70's and 80's, moral was dismal, funding nearly non existent, and corruption at an all time high! In short, it was the worst time in history for the U.S.Military and to be serving, at that time, ( As I began my Enlistment in 88) II got to see it first hand, and experience it at nearly every level! Carter didn't work well with the Military, he didn't understand how to use it, and his Sec Def was a POS, as was his Sec State! Going into his presidency was a nightmare, and it only grew worse under him! It was Regan who followed who started changing things for the better, but it was under BUSH 1 that we finally got things under control and back on track, however, Bush royally fucked us at the same time! Worst President in history, NOPE, not even close, That honor goes to Johnson or even the first Roosevelt!
I voted for Carter my first and only vote for a democrat. IMO OPEC raising prices did the Carter administration in and had a ripple effect in our whole economy. I can remember what a hassle it was finding and getting gas. Basically he was a good man and a victim of circumstances. Post presidency he did a lot go good unlike OBummer and Clinton. May he rest in peace
I have that book. A good insight into global politics. Another one, I don't remember the name but it was a biography of one of the Nixon Watergate conspirators. Might have been Howard Dean. In the book he is telling about inauguration day and entering the White House for the first time. Shortly after a line of limos pulls up and out gets several big name international bankers and power brokors, David Rockefeller, a Rothschild some others. They go into a conference room and a little while later they all leave and "Dick" comes out. Dean asks him "Whats going on Dick?" Nixon replies the he was just told who his cabinet was going to be. I don't think we have seen a president in any of our lifetimes who wasn't owned and controlled by the powers that be. I remember a story of Bush and Gore both going to Europe for a meeting with these behind the scenes power brokers to get thier approval to run for president. We have had elections but it was always between two establishment, NWO approved candidates. So it didn't matter who won. I may be completely suckered in and fooled by the biggest NWO psyop in history but I believe that Trump was the first person not owned by them to actually be elected to the presidency. We have never in history seen such a massive campaign of lies and manipulation of the world's biggest media outlets to try to defeat him. Even to the point of attempted assassination. I believe Carter was at heart a good and decent man but I have no doubt he was a NWO puppet, just like every president we've had for the last 100 years or more.
Not the greatest of Presidents, but was fortuitous that we had a Nuclear Engineer at the helm during Three Mile Island. The only thing I can fault him on was while acting as an election observer in a Latin American country falsified election results with the rationale of wanting to prevent bloodshed. While one of the worst US Presidents he was a raging success as a Human, and probably the most humble of ex Presidents. He is one of only two Presidents in my lifetime that I could have enjoyed spending a day hanging out with.
His post-political life was that of a well-to-do (ie quite rich) Southern Gentleman. I'll stop here on this part of his existence. As a politician he was a complete disaster, and is putting it mildly. *Passed the Community Reinvestment and Act - which led directly to the fall of the economy in 2008 * Gave away the frikken Panama Canal *Iran hostages - directly his fault as he 'selected' the guy that become the Aliotla Ko-main-ei to go back Iran and take over. *All of his stupid 'energy' crap - like only buying gas on certain days. F up the economy much? Sit int he dark and freeze, no Christmas lights and a ton of other useless shot to go with *Runaway inflation inflamed by FedGov policies. There is a whole story of 'inflationary expectation' that nearly destroyed the nation - close call. and of the course the real reason he got shitcanned - the Cuban Boatlift. -- this destroyed his power base in the Deep South and led directly to his defeat. .*** I've often wondered what we might be today if Reagan had been elected instead of little dipshit Jimmy. - There was a ton of election shenanigans that went on with the Dixie Mafia. The same machine that got Bent-dick Clinton election just a bit later. Now that SloJoe is on his way out, Jimmy gets to move up a slot or two on the shit-ist Prez ever. BTW - W Wilson, and FDR did far more damage that Carter - but most folks remember Carter -- as most American don't bother to study history. .
