Not a word in the media of the bombing of Pearl Harbor --how quickly we forget. To all my brothers in arms I proudly salute you and thank you for my freedom --it is our duty to protect what they gave us

Even Fox news almost did a pass. USA Today had a fairly decent write up with some good pictures. Of course they had to bring up FDR rounding up the Japanese in the Us and putting them into camps and how that action was Like Trump promising to deport the illegal aliens, as defined in the Constitution and how bad that was.

Uncle was on West Virginia and a cook. Bomb hit above enlisted mess and bomb and fire killed almost everyone. He and three others had been serving meals on the line and when mess quit serving, went out on deck where it was cool to have a smoke. He heard screaming and airplanes, got blown overboard and was unconscious.. Gram got a telegram that he was missing and presumed dead. He came to days later and they sent a second telegram that he was alive. She framed it and put over the fireplace. He didn't know what happened or how he survived, or who pulled him out of the water. Broken leg and back problems. Was weeks before he could go to ship and see damage. He went on to the Saratogo and served there until he was wounded again, and then finished the war in Bremerton Washington. His two other brothers were in Merchant Marines.

Typical liberal rag UAS Today --there is no comparison what FDR was Illegal what Trump will do is his duty under the Constitution. He forced to do this because Obummer and the Bidumb administration failed to up hold their Constitutional duty

Grand Dad was a Tank commander under Paton's 3rd army, Uncle was a Rifleman, both went ashore after D-Day! Another Uncle was a Marine in the Pacific, did every island campaign till Okinawa, was wounded 3 times, but finished the war none the less! Dads Brother was a Chief Water Tender aboard U.S.S. New Mexico, served the entire war from her sailing out of New York the day after the attack on Pearl, till the last Magic Carpet trip home. Died in 47 in Bethesda Naval Hospital, they said it was Consumption, later to find it was Tuberculous, which was a common ailment for those who served below decks on warships! Dad's Dad was a Shipwright in Portland, ether building liberty ships or mostly repairing warships that needed a quickie, lots of Submarines and P.T. Boats!

My dad went to King Point Merchant Marine Academy for engineering came out as a naval officer served on liberty ships in the N Atlantic. His friend at the academy later to be my uncle also was also a naval engineering officer on Liberty ships. Uncle Pat had 2 Liberty ships torpedoed out from under him and lived to tell about it though he never said much about it.

I can't swim. No way would I be in the Navy. Besides, all those types usually hog all the crayons.

This day isn't a commemorative holiday, nor is it a national remembrance day or any other kind of event. It's a day, just like September 11, 2001 -when we honor the lives lost due to the greed, corruption, and stupidity of the globalists who seek to dismantle everything that is good about America. We all should know by now that the Pearl Harbor attack didn't happen as the history books tell us. We also are aware that the official 9/11 commission is full of bean dip. We never forget because of the innocent lives lost, and because we were all used like cattle.

Perhaps one day, after this is all done and the dust settles, and if this iteration of humanity exists...there can be a final rendition of what our history actually was. We owe it to the human race to be honest for once.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

My birth father was in British Intelligence in the Spanish Civil War and a British commando all through WWII. I had a step-Dad who was US Army Infantry across Europe and later the Pacific in WWII, then Korea, then Vietnam. The man who raised me was in from Korea to the Gulf War. He did everything from Armor to helicopter gunship pilot.

Great and hard men that each gave a piece to me in their own way.

@Ura-Ki - "Consumption" is what they called tuberculosis, going back into the 1800's if not earlier.

As near as I can figure out the cause of the Japanese war, they in the eyes of the big boys not only tried to horn in on having colonies. But after the Russo-Japanese war and the conquest of Korea, indicated that they might challenge the empires. There is no doubt that the oil embargo gave them the choice of being yet another client state or go to war, We let them take Korea and Manchuria, but drew the line at China and shut off the oil. Several good books on it, but not taught in school. Good Americans, bad Japanese. But the winners always write the histories. I still don't know what went on with Carthage, but they almost handed the Romans their butts.

Had teacher that was a WW2 vet that had been on a weather detachment of like 50 men on some island off Newfoundland. All of them ended up with TB. Robert Heinlein the author was on a navy ship that went on a research mission to Antarctica in the 1930's, he and most of the ship ended up with TB. Lots of it during WW2 when living in damp, crowded quarters and not much fresh fruits and veggies. Had a cousin stationed in Islands off Alaska during WW2. Japs were a few islands away. He got mumps and couldn't shake it. Nearly died of it. They loaded him on a plane, flew him to Arizona, and two weeks later he was over it. Warm, dry, lots of sun and lots of fresh food. Walking the flight line in the dark, eating canned food, living 60 men in a barracks, no sun for a couple months, oil fired stoves for heat, breathing each others air. All it takes is one case of TB and it can and will spread thru the group very quickly. I had a good friend that had been in Pacific as a marine that had outbreaks of malaria until he died in his 90's. Mom's cousin was married to a Army vet who had fought in Islands north of Australia and he had some weird foot rot and wore open toe flip flops and white socks until he died. Could keep it down, but not get rid of it. They didn't all die at Pearl and lots of vets got diseases that were just as bad if not worse than being shot. Remember WW1 vets in 1940's that were still suffering from being gassed and in 1950's our Guard unit would take an ambulance up to the VA hospital and take WW1 vets who had been gassed out to the ball games in stretchers. Seemed more interested in the beer than the games. The hospitals were dry.

Consumption and Tuberculous are one and the same. One guy with an active case of TB, and being in a crowded, confined and poorly ventilated space, could infect everyone around him. They didn't find a cure until the 1950s.

They are too scared from President Trump's election! They can't do their jobs for visions of themselves behind bars or unemployed.
