Wrong. Retirees have long earned the right to vote. They paid into "The System" all their lives. People on Welfare/EBT are the ones who should have to earn the right to vote by improving their lot.

 

It is difficult for me to believe that a fifth-generation welfare recipient will suddenly become a self-supporting taxpayer. It has happened, occasionally.
One need only look at many of the US 'Reservations' to see the result of a multi-generational welfare state. It ain't pretty.

 

to continue... originally the founders required that people own land IIRC... all the farmers could vote... as well as others but there were requirements...

then along came LBJ with his one man one vote... and he also created the welfare state as we know it today...

IMHO anyone on EBT/welfare of that type should NOT be able to vote!!! UNTIL they have been gainfully employed for one year prior to voting...

right now they go with whoever promises them free stuff... and care little for much else...

 

Exactly. If the "professional welfare class" wants a say in our elections, laws, etc. they need to step up and get off welfare, start earning the right to do so.
