You should be up here in N Alabama when there is a threat of winter weather, otherwise sane and normal people go ape-shit crazy for milk and bread! MILK AND BREAD! Then they try and return the gallons of milk and loafs of bread before they go out-of-date.

Bear in mind that many prescription drugs' basic ingredients are made in China. I need Blood Pressure meds and have about 1 1/2 years' supply put back. If we end up in a conflict with China, hopefully that'll be enough time to crank up domestic manufacturing.

Shame on this country for allowing such critical items and substances to be controlled by foreign interests, especially those that could become adversaries at the drop of a hat.

We have been sold out by our political elites ,,,
Our elites make money off of our asses ,,,

Insider trading ,,,, Piglosi's husband just recently sold off a bunch of stock in some company,, 2 days later ,, our government files suit against that company.

We will never get ahead with this type of government.

Damned the hatchets ,,, lube up the ropes ,,,,,

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I've got about 60 days worth of a medicine that while not having it wouldn't kill me, I wouldn't care if I died in 3 months if I didn't have it.

My biggest dependency on modern civilization. Such is life.

Life has taught me I'll always fight against any darkness.

I too am using a blood thinner, which though manufactured here, the ingredients are sourced "worldwide". I need to stock up on a bigger supply, JIC.

The only bright side to this is for those that recognize their shortcomings and are able to pick up "gently used" preps for a song.

A week into panic buying and you’re running low on TP already? You didn’t learn anything from the Covid panic buying , did you?

For anyone on a daily med, like I am, the most important thing for me was to find a doctor that I respected and that listened to me. Recently, I asked him to renew my prescription at a double dose (100mg instead of the 50 I need) after some discussion, I stated that I didn't like where things were going globally and wanted some backup that would still be covered by my insurance. I just paid 9 dollars for a "90 day supply" that will last me 180 once cut in half, instead of 5 bux for my actual 90 day supply. Now in 90 days, I will still have 3 months of meds on hand, and insurance will cover another bottle.
Sometimes you have to get creative, being cheap has been one of my best preps ever!

Jase medical has options to stock up on other things besides antibiotics. You can always try the heal thy self option if possible. Mercola has a great website for that.

I avoid the rush when disaster is looming. I stock up on my preps - including cases of TP - when there ain't a rush on it. Buy it as I go through the year, stock it away for the eventual need - like our ancestors did generations ago. Often the "old ways" are still best. Be like the industrious Ant, putting away for the future, instead of like the Locust, stripping everything right now! (y)

Yes, keeping an ample supply of staples on hand is key, anywhere and anytime! Only ONE time did we need to make an emergency trip to get something (don't even recall what it was now), but I swore that was the last time. We'd either do without or make sure we had everything ahead of time.
While modern weather forecasters are OK, for big and major storms they are usually pretty close and give lots of warning. Thunderstorms and tornados are harder to get advanced notice on, but usually the forecasts let you know that there is a chance of something happening.
In my area, the four letter word for panic is "SNOW". Usually if there is a chance of anything more than a dusting the schools will announce closures a few days in advance and when that happens stores are usually cleaned out of milk, bread and beer.
My preps usually include rotating stored water and checking that the generator is in working order. I might run to the store for some steaks to cook while others are panicking.

Vitamin K is a good blood thinner.

Actually Vitamin K aids blood clotting, so "thickens" blood. We on certain blood thinners must avoid foods high in Vitamin K, like grapefruit, dark green leafy veggies, cran berries, etc.
