I love days like today when I have lots of energy! I started a 10 week program and always appreciate the beginning state when I get acquainted with the exercises and format. I did my total body workout, 2 styles of dancing, and hula hooping. I'll do some mild stretching and meditation before bed.
I have a good caloric deficit going today, too.

It's Day 2 of this program and when I got out of bed my calves were burning! That's random, but I did end yesterday's workout with calf raises on the stairs and my roosters, Rusto(leum) & Darkwellian pecked at my ankle and startled me. Lol. That has nothing to do with the burn in my calves, but I think it's a funny story.
The program that I'm working on has 3 foundational workouts and 2 focus workouts per week. During this first phase (3 weeks) I'm going to focus on Shoulders on Tuesdays and Glutes on Thursdays. I want to carve out an hourglass figure. Today was shoulders and it was challenging!

Next Tuesday is another event, Pole-top Rescue. Teams from around the state rescue a dummy from a pole with a scenario that requires some teamwork and thinking. After rescuing the dummy in the air you perform CPR on a special dummy that’ll record your effort. I’m the climber and a coworker is the groundman but, I have to do 5 rounds of CPR myself after I climb down. Stay tuned.

This sounds like a fun challenge! 5 rounds of CPR is a lot. It's a good thing you've been training! Let us know how it goes!!!

Today I did my 2nd foundational workout! My favorite move was the deadlifts and the move that needs the most work is Rear deltoid flys. For some reason it's challenging for me to activate and feel that part of my body so I'm working on the movement without weight.
Dips also got thrown into the mix and I'm only on 4 sets of 8 repetitions, but I surprised myself by doing the last 2 sets with straight legs!
I almost got threough the entire workout when we decided to go to the store to get 3 months of canned goods. I like having easy food on hand and it's good to get it before people start panic buying... The drive to Costco is nearly 2 hours one way so we settled for Safeway.
My power bill went up to over $600 this month and my house is less than 600 square feet so I know that if anything major happens, they will raise the cost of groceries in a second. Lots of tuna, sardines, meat, chili, fish, beans, instant coffee, etc.
I came home and did those 4 sets of 20 calf raises.
The interesting part about this whole program is that my calves are the most sore. That seems fairly random. Lol.

I had a great focus workout yesterday followed by a 6 mile bike ride and some dancing in the evening. I'm getting ready to start my 3rd foundational workout of the week and my calves are finally feeling a little better. Happy Friday Everyone!

I did 3 practice rounds yesterday rescuing a dummy and then finishing with CPR. I’m not a great communicator and especially when it’s for show so… (Evidently the judges eat that $hit up) 3 days or so away.

Are you guys lowering with a sked or the work harness?

The dummy is simulating a climber so we have to safely rig him with a hand-line, tie three half-hitches around his chest and lower to the ground.

Time to practice your showmanship and charisma...
I understand though. I'm an introvert so that kind of thing makes my mind go blank. Lol.

I've done so much training over the years that I can perform like I was raised on the stage. That and girls. I enjoyed kissing and canoodling with young ladies and had to flip my introverted ways. Lurking in the shadows and glaring at people DID NOT facilitate more kissing.

I would probably be good in sales but I will not sell what honor I have to lie or up-sell a product I don't believe in. That list is dang small.

As an accomplished author, Meat can do it.

Same. I plan to communicate but only what is necessary. I’m not selling my soul for a placing. Tomorrow is the big day BTW, I did another 8 practice rounds yesterday with the dummy at a lower level. Getting gear on quickly and practicing the rescue knot was the goal.

It's great that you have these skills and I bet life is more fun when you can be flexible and perform. I was a classically trained musician and opera singer, but anything that took me out of the structure or required improv really made the ground feel wobbly under me. Haha. I'm definitely trying to work on this.

Happy Monday! I decided to sign up for Sadie's Raq's Flow Level One program. She offers a 4 part belly dance training and just turned it into an online program. It was a little bit of a splurge, but I think it will be worth it. My goal is to do my first run through of the entire program before we leave for Europe in Mid-October!
We just got our tickets to Rome. After taking 4 years of Latin in High School and 3 at the university level; I want to explore the Appian Way in real life. When I was a singer, I sang in Italian, German, Spanish, Latin, English, and French and Italian was always my favorite language to sing in.
I'm so excited even though this means getting on a plane for the first time in 5 years. Have any of you ever been? Let me know if you have recommendations of places to see. It will be my first time in Europe. For my birthday I got the Patagonia Blackhole 32L backpack and am happy that everything I want to bring fits.

I had a decent run, I died but…Somehow in all the chaos I forgot my safety glasses too. Oops.

Thank you. This part of our trade is really cool, the ability to scamper up a pole and then make things happen.

I've got about as much chance of climbing a pole as an armadillo. Great job!
