That’s great news, Zimmy. I dropped the carbs for Lent (which coincided with Valentine’s Day this year), and have lost 35 so far. I figure we’ll see where we get by the end of the year on the same plan.

    Great job!

That's about when I started the diet. Valentine's Day with pizza.

I started with just calorie reduction but by March I had cut the carbs to <30. In April, I upped the protein to >60 to save some muscle.

Saturday is our family 10k, 7:30 AM. I’m hoping that the pain is tolerable because that’s a long distance to run. Yikes!

I think I strained my back when I was moving the mulch a few days ago so I've been resting even though there's so much that I want to do. Injuries are humbling, but it's good for me to slow down a little. I've been going hard all summer. I think that the acupuncture and cupping probably helped, but if I have a choice between that or getting a massage; I would definitely choose the massage. Tomorrow I'm getting a 2 hour massage!
I recently finished reading Stephen King's Bill Hodges Trilogy which includes:
    1. "Mr. Mercedes" 5 stars because it was really good.
    2. "Finders Keepers" 4 stars. It was pretty good, but I was glad when it was done and looking forward to the next one.
    3. "End of Watch" 5 stars. This was a really great ending to the series and I'm sad that it's done.
I read the whole trilogy because I wanted to prepare for "Holly" which I'm currently reading. As I'm looking into it more; it appears that "Holly" is book #3 in a series so I might have to put this one on hold and read the first two books. Lol. Oops, I just put "The Outsider" on hold at my digital library.

I'm also reading "Sustainable Travel: The Essential Guide to Positive Impact Adventures" by Holly Tuppen. Having travelled around the world without flying, sustainability expert Holly Tuppen knows a thing or two about low-carbon and positive-impact adventures. Here, she shares what she's learnt from over a decade of responsible travels. Sustainable Travel will help your trip to be a force for good with information on how

    - Ask tour operators and accommodations the right questions
    - Reduce your carbon footprint
    - Embrace slow travel
    - Pack responsibly
    - Benefit the people, cultures and places you visit

Also included is a guide to regenerative travel experiences, including conservation-minded tours, community-led initiatives, alternative adventures, responsible destinations and green places to stay. A series of interviews feature the experts and unsung heroes of sustainable travel.

With so many of us looking to travel in a more sustainable way, but not sure how to go about it, this comprehensive guide reveals everything you need to know. It's a must read for anyone looking to tackle the climate crisis and support nature and people while travelling.

My birthday is on Monday so I think I want to deep clean, purge, declutter, and get my life in order before then. Much coffee is required!

@Alanaana, massage and acupuncture have saved me from a couple of rotator cuff surgeries.

Get better and take your time. The time for pushing boundaries will come again in time.

It rained on us and hard. I think that saved me, lol. Afterwards I said “let’s never do that again” but I’ve changed my mind. The other bums in my family better show next time.

Gotta love that moment when "never again" somehow morphs into: "let's turn this into a yearly family tradition." Just wait until it goes monthly... Then weekly? Lol.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

    Happy birthday!

I reached my first goal of dropping 80 lbs.

I will continue to maintain the diet plan for 2 pounds lost per week as a secondary focus.

My new primary goal is 25% BMI. I'm extremely big boned (8" wrist circumference) and have no idea what that will be in pounds in my 50s.

I'm just sure it won't be what it was in my teens and 20s.
