It appears that over the last 60 years "tornado alley" has shifted from kansas, to Oklahoma and now currently appears to be east Texas, west Arkansas, western Louisiana.
Don't know why, probably not the reason they want us believe.

This high has shifted over time and drives a lot of the weather other than hurricanes.

We (AK) get affected by the Siberian High which has been shifting to the West as well.

 

That may be why we had more major land falling hurricanes per decade prior to 1930s. (The record goes back to 1885)
