I finally got out of the frustrating rut I felt like I was in since then end of May. While, I wasn't doing the high volume workouts that I was doing throughout March and April, I was still very active and felt like we were making better food choices than before, but I was still gaining weight and my measurements were going up for about a month. I really started to worry that something was wrong and I felt very crushed and discouraged that my hard work was going to waste. For awhile, I couldn't figure out what was causing this...
Then I narrowed it down to the fact that we started getting our morning coffee from a new coffee shop in town. I'm not blaming him at all for any of this because I take full responsibility for the choices I make. And he's very thoughtful. My bf likes to go in and get us our coffees and I usually stay in the car and read (Lol, have to get those pages in somehow). I noticed that they were putting a ton of heavy cream in our coffees and it was delicious, but I was concerned and asked him if I could get less cream or soy instead to cut down on the calories. For awhile, he told me that I was overreacting and it was silly that I thought that some cream in my coffee would make me gain weight, but during my workout when I would see a little extra jiggle here or there and I would feel crushed and wonder, "what's the point since it's not working?" I know this sounds super dramatic and it probably is, but my health feels like a life or death issue at this point... I felt like all of my hard work was being sabotaged by "something."
Long story short, I said that I'm pretty sure they are putting 8 oz of heavy cream in our coffees and that means it's around 800 calories almost every morning. He thought that it was only a tablespoon or 2. I had accounted for 300 calories per coffee, but I had a feeling it was more. Sure enough the coffee girls said they were putting over 8 oz of heavy cream in each coffee and they didn't know it had so many calories. Lol... I'm relieved to know the culprit for the 5-6 lbs that I put on since then... It's been challenging to take it off, but I'll keep going and hopefully now it will be easier with out the meal in a cup in the morning.
It feels good to be back on track and now I'm even more mindful of my choices!

    Cream and no sugar?

I'd be suspicious of the sugar.....instead of the fat. Somehow even fake sugar sweetener makes your body act like it was sugar.

It was supportively supposed to be stevia, but I had my doubts. It seemed like they were slipping something into it. Those coffees were the only difference that I could pinpoint in my life. Other than that I didn't make any major dietary changes. It could be that I'm very sensitive even to stevia so I'm going to watch out for that.

IMG_2699. I went 2 and 0. I was in bad spots in both of my matches but overcame that and won them in the end. The first one was 10 to 2 and the second one I submitted him with an Americana. Definitely room for improvement but gold is ok of course. Lol.

    That's awesome!

I found a jujitsu dojo is now in my town. I plan to take classes once I get my body where I want it.

I got away from boxing and American Tae QuanDo a long time ago. One, I just wasn't a natural and the other just isn't a warrior art, IMO.

Today was a strength and conditioning workout and I felt strong!
We took a mini vacation (first time "away" since 2020) over the weekend. I have my heart set on buying more land in the coldest area of the island that I can find. We stayed in a yurt in the subdivision that I was curious about and it was dreamy and fun even with the mishaps...
The power went out for 4.5 hours... Awkward . I thought it was funny and it gave me a chance to fully unplug. The internet was out until the next day. Oh, and the roof was leaky and the lid to the water supply wasn't attached... And cold showers... Go figure, the one time we decide to take a holiday, the power goes out. Luckily, I secretly love power outages and had a blast. We also salt cured Tomahawk steaks, sausages (Italian and Longanissa), and bacon and we got that done well before the power outage.
I'll probably post more pics, but we'll start with this:

Today I did a bodyweight cardio and abs workout, mowed the lawn, got over 10,000 steps, did pilates for shoulders.
Last night I got an Ashiatsu massage and I'm feeling good! Since I posted a heart opener yesterday, I'll post an upside down inversion, today.

In Western Wa. trees are probably the most common cause but more and more old underground cables are right up there too. For this reason, amongst others, the EV push is impossible with our current electrical system. Nope. By the way, most are directly buried. It’s humorous on outages folks will ask Can’t they just replace it?” If it’s overhead lines they’ll ask “Why can’t they put them underground?”
In all seriousness if any youngsters are looking for a career this one I’m in is a golden ticket for the foreseeable future. For more info, I’m always just a PM away.

As a former plant operator, outages were either horrible if unplanned or maje$tic if planned.

    One was "Wtf happened???"
The other was, "90 hrs/wk w/OT and $100 cash per diem for 3 months? YOU BETCHA!"

Seems like utilities are moving to a model of not having their own crews beyond daily operational needs. I think they prefer to hire independents for storm work.

A few weeks a dead ohia on our lot fell and took out the power line attached to our house. Thankfully, the power company responded quickly and installed new line. They are pretty good about restoring power quickly in this subdivision, but I still want to have a property that is completely off grid. This month's power bill was $300. So that's a little better than last month's $500, but still too much.
