Superb technique! My Dad used a smaller cast net to catch shrimp and baitfish. I never could quite get the hang of it.

Pretty ingenious, actually. Though braking will be a bit iffy. (y)

I was thinking with the weight and higher speed of the truck versus a person,, them bearings may get cooked pretty quickly.
But I can see a short trip in an emergency.

It doesn't seem to matter how long you've been using something, or how competent you think you are with it, when you see a better way of doing something, you adopt it.

This is one of those things. I've been using hurricane lanterns since I was probably twelve. I always fumbled with them trying to install the globe. You have to pull up the spring loaded top of the lantern to fit the globe in. That means holding it down with one hand, fitting the globe with the other hand, and then with your third hand, lifting the top up. I'd tried all sorts of awkward ways to change the globe and nobody ever showed me a better way, until today.

It's odd that when I saw the technique on a video, it was by the manufacturer of the same lantern I first tried it on. You can do it either with thumb or finger, but you use the bail to give lifting leverage on the finger loop. Lets you change a globe with no fuss.
