Back to the buying silver thread:

Silver slipped a bit on Thursday and took a header on to the concrete pool surround today. (Reference gold down 2.5 percent or 50 bucks an ounce. Silver down 5 percent or 1.15 per ounce off Thursday's price)

And yes, i took full advantage of the 2.xx over spot deals on silver and discounts on gold as well.

I think i bought as much today as i did last year.

Buh-bye Christmas bonus .. hello shiny stuff

Me too. I also jumped back in to buy. Now in the process of turning part of my 401k into one of those physical gold IRAs.

I was expecting to post something like "yeah but that price still sucks", but it really doesn't.
WTH happened it was about $30 an ounce delivered a week ago.
Maybe it will drop more next week. I'm looking for about $26 delivered for a 100oz for bars or rounds.
The price is so bad I bought 10 of those 5oz bars. I don't really want fives. They sell ok.
It was about $27/oz total with NM sales tax.
If the price drops to $26 delivered, with sales tax and they have 1oz coins or bars I'll order more another hundred or so.

The price is back in that buy range. No one seems to be panicking as of this morning.
A few years ago I was able to get panic sale 10oz poured bars for 44 cents an ounce over spot, during a down turn.
It does happen, but it's rare.
    It was cheaper than shot.

I'm just sad that i don't have any more cash sitting around to buy more on my dollar cost averaging until the end of next month.
I like to buy in 40 - 100 ounce buys to reduce the premium.
I've done smaller quantities but that typically adds 50 cents to sometimes a buck more per ounce in premium vs larger quantity lower premium.

Silver is above $30 per ounce, but I'm still planning on adding some more to my hoard. I'd rather have it than not and I gotta stick with the buying schedule that I've established.

My buying schedule is buy it when it's at a 1 to 2 year low. Sell it at 7 to 10 year highs.

I buy now and only intend to part with it when I die or after the Shit has really and truly Hit The Fan! If I sell it now, what will I have? The answer is... a bunch of fiat money! Fiat money is what I'm trying to get away from by buying silver, not into! Also, you and I are supposed to pay short- or long-term capital gains taxes on any profits, and I'm not into that either! Many years ago, I had to sell some gold, silver and guns to pay bills, and I swore then that I would NEVER do that again!

You'll have a bunch of cash, sit on it for a year or 2 then you'll have around 50% more silver when the price drops or some other undervalued asset that someone had to sell to pay the bills.
I ended up with several guns, probably a hundred pounds of cast bullets, kegs of smokeless, a like new riding lawnmower and some other stuff when we were balls deep in 2020.

If you won't sell them then that means you didn't have enough.

If I stick to my plan, I will have enough...soon. There is too little, there is too much, and there is the Cinderella Spot, where it's just right. I don't want too much of anything, be it gold, silver, food, fuel, guns, ammo, etc. etc. etc, and I don't want too little!

unless Trump's edge somehow diminishes or the Darkside manages to sabotage the Country worse than it is now - the hedge metals will be losing ground - a big swing down in 2025 if the economy starts to perk >>>

pick up the bargains when you see them - but the inflation could be at its peak and leveling off and lowering next year - wouldn't be paying 30% high for a short term bet .....

sitting still but ready the next 6 months isn't the worst strategy
