If there was more room I'm sure they'd have included some of my local favorites. Drinks like Sebmup and Cocola. and common phrases like Yeetyet?... Yontoo? But my all time favorite is the pronunciation of a long gone hardware store in town. You could ask a dozen people and they'd all tell you that "Palace Hardware" was the place to go. You'd never find their phone number in the white pages, and this was back when we had rotary pay phones. It wasn't until I was standing in the hardware store parking lot that I realized why I couldn't find it. I read their sign as Pal's Hardware. The local pronunciation wasn't Palace, it was Pal-s "Pal-s Hardware"

 

Not to mention brisket is cooked outside!
