As of tomorrow, SB 1 will officially take effect, making Louisiana the 28th state to enact constitutional carry legislation!

If you are NOT a convicted felon or other person prevented by law from owning/carrying a firearm, you can carry a concealed handgun without a pistol permit. You can also usually carry unconcealed firearms (handguns and long-guns), this is called 'open carry'. Here in Alabama, we have both constitutional and open carry, but I still get a state pistol permit because I travel to other states, and some require that non-residents have state issued pistol permits.

Just got my permit in Arizona about a month ago, because I can. Also has the advantage of bypassing the background check for firearms purchases. Arizona has had constitutional carry since 2010.

Just 22 more states to go, but some of them are so blue and anti-gun that they will NEVER allow citizens to carry without making them jump through an insane number of hoops. Those states are mostly on the Left Coast, Illinois and in the Northeast, places that I have never been, mostly because they are full of Yankees, liberals and don't allow me to carry a gun. However, should I ever take that driving tour of the West, I will carry a gun and I will get away with it!

Congratulations to those in Louisiana! We, in Idaho, have had it for a while now. In truth, it seems like a God given right to me to be able to protect yourself but if they need to make it law to keep the peanut gallery quiet then so be it.

The wife and I are going to New Mexico soon for a mini vacation. Last time I went through there, several years ago. They had restrictive (and unconstitutional) gun laws. But I was surprised to see when I checked that they are now constitutional carry. I don't know when they changed but it's a great sign when so many states are supporting people's right to protect themselves. Of course my permit to carry was issued in 1776. All these laws mean is that in those states I don't have to worry about being persecuted for exercising my God given, Constitutional affirmed, right to bear arms.
I won't celebrate a government "giving" people something they have always had.

If a "law" needs to be made then it is no longer a right. Rights cannot be legislated.

The Right to Keep and Bear Arms was handed down from GOD on high long before 1776, the US Constitution just restated the obvious. What a government giveth, it can damn well taketh away!
