I had my CDL physical recently and my weight was good, BP was great but eyes were bad. There was no hernia check thank God because it was a chick. Yikes!

Those sound like great results to me. As a person who depends on glasses and refuses to wear contacts... I understand.

I have cheap “readers” for the close-in stuff. Likely before I return (two years) I’ll need glasses to read that chart properly. Dang.

I had such an active day today! I did a 30 minute total body strength training workout, then 2 hours of hula hoop conditioning. I just finished an hour of dancing and now we are going to have homemade chili. I'm sore from today's workouts so I'll do some stretching before bed.
    Last week I read:
    • "Darling Girls" by Sally Hepworth and it was creepy and suspenseful. I think I'll give it a 4 star rating.
Since life is too short to read bad books, I'm going to stop reading "Fullfillment: Winning and Losing in One-Click America" by Alec MacGillis. I might just downgrade it to the "to be read" list. I can't really say that it's a bad book since I haven't finished it. The first chapter was really engaging and well-written, but I'm not enjoying how political the current chapter I'm on is. And since the world feels so volatile with the war in Russia and lots of impending issues in our near future, I think I want to read something a little more inspiring and motivating. I'm just not that interested in diving down the "Amazon" rabbithole right now, but that could change later.

    I'm currently reading:
    • "Circle of Friends" by Maeve Binchy was first published in 1979. It is Historical Irish Fiction and Romance and I'm loving it so far. Here is the official description: "It began with Benny Hogan and Eve Malone, growing up, inseparable, in the village of Knockglen. Benny—the only child, yearning to break free from her adoring parents...Eve—the orphaned offspring of a convent handyman and a rebellious blueblood, abandoned by her mother's wealthy family to be raised by nuns. Eve and Benny—they knew the sins and secrets behind every villager's lace curtains...except their own. It widened at Dublin, at the university where Benny and Eve met beautiful Nan Mahlon and Jack Foley, a doctor's handsome son. But heartbreak and betrayal would bring the worlds of Knockglen and Dublin into explosive collision. Long-hidden lies would emerge to test the meaning of love and the strength of ties held within the fragile gold bands of a...Circle Of Friends."
Overall, I'm feeling a lot better than I was feeling a week ago. What are you currently reading or listening to?

In September I’m doing a Pole Top Rescue competition. I hate to lose so, I’m practicing and dialing everything in. Here’s an example.

This guy is fast but I hope to have a similar run. Stay tuned.

I looked up the stats on obesity in this country in 1960 16% of the population was obese --in 2024 it is now 41.9% --a national health crisis yet in this WOKE society I have noticed TV commercials are loaded with obese people all in the name of inclusion and the obesity health crisis will only get worse.

That is so alarming that it rose to these numbers. It is an absolute health crisis and I hate the way that society is trying to glamorize it. The body positivity movement is literally becoming toxic for our health and shortening our lives. Thank you for sharing this and reminding me to stay on track! Hope you're doing well.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

I've done high angle rescues with a SKED before, but never around any live power lines.

I'm keeping a food journal again to keep track of what I'm eating and how I feel. Today I did a total body strength workout and I'm getting ready to do some yard work. I'm going to focus on not making excuses and taking full responsibility for my choices.

Same routine on my end. I threw in a hike up a mountain last Saturday where I did fine. In class SIL #2 is getting quite good, he tapped me with some leg lock Monday, ouch! Here’s my only leg attack right now, I got a guy with it Monday as well.

Things are good here. My hands were bothering me and going numb so I had to slow down on shoveling buckets of soil. The rest is probably good for me. My bf got me a massage from a local spa, yesterday which was also my rest day and that helped my hands. Today is going to be a leg / abs workout. Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend.
We are supposed to get some dangerous ironwood trees cut down so I'm looking forward to that.
Overall, June has been a good month for me even though my focus hasn't been where I thought it would be. I decided to drop the advanced choreo challenge since I didn't like the song and that felt nice. My bf and I have been doing a lot of gardening and he has helped me clear even more of the property!
I started hula hooping again because it has been "too hot and humid" to comfortably walk or jog outside and the closest gym costs $150 / month which is too much for what you get. I guess the advantage is that it's not as crowded, but I can't see myself paying that much to go to a location. The local swimming pool is outdoor and free so I bought a swimming suit cap and goggles and may need to check it out soon.
My reading has slowed down a lot and I think it's because I'm spending so much time outside and maybe I just don't like this book very much. So far I'm at 5 books for the month of June. The last time I read so little was last June so it must be a June thing. Lol. My overall book count for the year is 69.
    I'm currently reading:
"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn. I think that I just don't like reading about relationship drama and cheating very much. It is so common.

    Zimmy Wait, I'm not ready!

Still working the plan here. 64 pounds down mostly from diet and stretching.

I'm walking the parking garages bottom to top and back down to get some shady incline walks in. Two round trips is a mile. Lots of walking was done in British Columbia but I was still the weakest (and youngest) link in our running around.

Meditation is ongoing. It had been a long time since I had regularly practiced it. That led to a herd of elephants rampaging around in my gourd running interference. I'm getting that calmed down finally.

It seems my spirit animal wants to raise the black flag even more than my normal thoughts [patr][YD]

@Zimmy Awesome progress and it sounds like you have great places to walk. The hot weather has been cramping my style and I haven't been getting as many steps in as I would like. I want to meditate more throughout this upcoming month (July.) I did a better job with stretching after my workouts.
June has felt complicated, but we got a lot done so that's good.
    Keep up the great work!!!

It felt like the heat drained all of my motivation, but I was able to do my upper body workout. We got the dangerous trees professionally chopped so that's a great feeling. No more rocking chair sounds around here! I hope you are all doing well!
