Remember when folks were scared of "Big Brother"?

Nobody was watching Big Business. And more to the point - Big Business, NGOs and 'non-profits' looking to control what you are allowed to eat.

Shortish article lying out just who the bad guys are in the upcoming food fight. I find the intersection of the NGOs/Trusts as the real scary part.

Old man Rockefeller would shoot his own GG grandkids for what they have created. Old Money + Ivy League indoctrination = the coming mess.

    Don't even get me started!
I deal daily with a state hell bent to destroy small farming, a state that encourages Big Corporate owned farm/cooperatives apposed to the small operations who are far more agile and able to contend with all the variables in nature!
I'm right in the middle of a epic fight with the State Growers Co-Op, they demand I turn over 100% of my yearly seed production, which they take and and put into their repository and then sell it back to me when it's time to re plant! I have already broken the backs of the States Big Co-Op's, and Now I control the seed production and all that follows, but the state keeps poking the bear, and has come after me from every point of the compass! As of now, I have "Banked" 5 years worth of seed that I alone have produced on the farms I own, I have refused to turn over a single seed to the state Co-Op, and told them to go pound sand, they have been trying to destroy me for the last few years, but I have beaten them at every step, so far! I then started a new Co-Op and seated a board, that board is 100% farmers with a vested interest in keeping the state out of everyone's business, and also keeping the big corporate farms from muscling in on our crops, which we have been successful at because we set and control the price of the years final production, and we alone profit, and not the state any more!

Basically, the State had it's fingers in on everything, we supplied the land and the sweat, and they paid us a percent of our Grose Yield, whilst they also made money on the back end by requiring us to submit all the seed to them, to which we would then be forced to buy back from them in order to plant new. The state owned all the production and harvesting equipment, which was beyond worn out, most dating from the late 50's and 60's, the building and storage were way out of date and dangerous/unsafe, so I took on the state, and took on the Co-Op and I beat them in court, meanwhile, the other farmers agreed to Co-Op into my network, and we purchased all brand new state of the are equipment and built new storage and all the infrastructure we needed to support growing operations, and we own 100% of the entire process, and the state cannot touch a single seed or peny of profit from it! I now set the price based on the seasons production values and the expected harvest, and all the factors that go into that, and from there, I get my price and then we pay the state a very small flat percent of the net, not grose, which really pisses them off to no end, but they are powerless to challenge it!

Yup same thing. The government has hit the size where everything must be controlled and regulated and naturally skimmed to keep the Politburo and the Oligarchs wealthy.

I am out of the Food and Farm game totally as of last Saturday. I held on to my Registered herd of Low Line Arberdeens thinking I might get back in to the game when things normalized in my life. Held on to two of the Food Trailers as well thinking running one of those might be retirement income on the side and keep me busy. The ration and reason kicked in and I remembered all of the Regulation, Corruption and Pay to play involved and how much worse that environment has gotten since 2020. Just ain't worth the effort to keep doing it anymore.

I guess converting everything to hay and selling the hay doesn't remove me totally from the game but hay is a whole different game than the other crops and food side.
