I've been looking at AI and the Large Language Models for some time now. And I've come to the conclusion that it may or may not kill us, but it's definitely going to kill the internet.

Currently, AI is trained on static data sources. Meaning that it's using historical information typically months to years old snapshots.
When it starts using contemporaneous or current data, like from yesterday and today. And some of that data is previous deep fakes and then starts using that as data points to cite as valid information and events and this thing gets out into the wild.

The internet is dead. We will no longer be able to trust the 'News'. Everything is suspect. I mean it's bad enough now with text to video but we don't have an abitur of truth to validate what the AI ML is training on.

Once it starts vacuuming up 'Current' events and not historical .. it's over.

Can't trust hardly anything on the internet now. Give it a couple of software generations .. people will be committing suicide because aliens have invaded the planet and probing folks causing an excruciating death (War of the Worlds Fake News Broadcast)

Yeah, the internet hasn't made us smarter. It's killed the card catalog and turned us into idiots.
We won't be able to believe what we read, see or hear on the internet.
