Has been a while :)

Figure I pop in and lurk and read but have not said much for a while. Really did not think I would find a Best Best friend and fall in love again And be spending pretty much every weekend in TN. But here we are.


Needed something a whole lot more comfortable and better mpg than any of my trucks. So I bought a 2025 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid and went a bit over board with the bells and whistlers. Loving the 48-52 MPG and a real comfortable ride to go back and forth to TN in. Still working on the first 1000 miles on it A bit sporty with plenty of git up n go, a bit luxury and great MPG.


Decided to sell all of the livestock and convert the farm to all Red Clover/Orchard grass hay and straight alfalfa hay. At this point in history I will make $20,000 hay money per year for about 4 weeks worth of work. I did buy a new baler and 10 wheel rake and a 2 year old JD Discbine that all burned me for $50,000 but I will make that all back over 3 years. And my trailer dealer finally found the trailer I was wanting. Some one traded in a 96"W 24' Long Deck Over, bumper pull, 14,000GVR , tilt deck, flat bed 2019 trailer yesterday morning and 35 minutes later I materialized with a check for $8500 in hand. Been wanting to down size from Red and the GN and the black Ram with his * banger hemi can pull up to 12,000 pound comfortably. So I have all new hay equipment and the trailer I wanted to haul it on.

And well I am enjoying sitting on Dana's porch with her watching the sun rise and figuring out what we are going to do that day. Enjoying it a whole lot more than cattle and hogs

Yeah sooner or later we are going to talk about which of our places we will be calling home. We both have really nice places. So that is going to be very serious discussion with a whole lot of factors to consider. The 250 miles between is a real PITA but not something that is a big obstacle. Scary thing is we are sooo much alike in so many ways and just mesh together in every way.


Odds are it will be me that moves to TN and maybe move back to my place after she retires. I was fortunate enough to be able to retire in 2020 at 52. Didn't work out that way for her. Our biggest argument actually our only argument is "Mike Seriously would you STOP spending so much money on me!" And Mike says "Nope gonna keep on getting my Lady nice things " If that is the worst argument we ever have then we got nothing to argue about

Anyway I will never sell my place. It makes hay money and guaranteed passive lease money every month. Doubt she would ever sell her place either. We are both widowed her a little longer than me. But we both are over it and well moving on from it together. And life is GOOD one might say better than it has ever been for both of us now days. And we sure do make each other happy
I just don't spend a lot of time online anymore but do pop in and read here and a couple other places.

Well ,, it's damn sure good to hear from ya ,, been hoping you was doing well ,, and by God,, you're doing better than expected . You're really starting to spoil yourself,, them new fangled cars will surely spoil ya ,, sometimes it'll make ya wonder why you've been hanging onto all that oldd stuff ,, but I'm guilty of all that myself.
Been thinking about sending ya a PM to check on ya ,, been wondering how that new mill was working out ,,, but I see it hasn't been a priority lately,,, ,,, Congratulations fine Sir ,,, carry on ,, and check in when ya can ,,,,,,

Glad you're doing well and have found someone KK. I'm still shuttling back and forth between my house and my property, working on improvements there and have only the two cats for company.

Kinda late in life to be actively looking for female company at 70 but if it happens I won't refuse.

I'm so happy for you and glad that things are working out so well. Your new wheels are awesome and get dreamy gas mileage. I ended up getting a new Nissan Rogue and love it.
I don't blame you for preferring her view rather than cattle and hogs. It's great that you were able to turn your property into a passive income generator. Red Clover is amazing in so many ways.
