Despite the ongoing disintegration of the society that we are forced to live into today - not everyone has given up hope. My son and daughter-in-law stopped by to show us a new t-shirt they picked up for our grandson that we mind - . It said: "Practicing to be a Big Brother!" The new addition should arrive this Fall. Tickled shitless doesn't cover it - had to share the good news.....
A relationship with one's grand child, is different to a relationship with one's children, for both the grandparent and the grand child. Whether the relationship is more or less satisfying than with one's children, is up to the grand parent and grandchild, as they both grow older. I have three grand children so far (that I know of) and each of them have brought much joy and happiness to my life, and I am confident that you also will enjoy your relationship with your grandchild in the making.
My thanks for the good wishes. This is extra special as many of my nieces/nephews are openly saying - no kids! My siblings are heartbroken but have no choice but to live on. Even as a HS snottier, I could never imagine not being married and having grand-kiddos.
