I was looking at freeze dried products though as they last longer right??

It has the longest proven shelf life (30+ years). Their entrees are the types of food people are used to eating every day. Outdoors/adventure types choose it regularly over other brands for its taste, nutrition, portability, and ease in meal preparation. There are other brands of freeze dried and dehydrated foods out there, and they are OK as well. It really is about what you want--what type of food do you want, how long do you want it to be a viable emergency option, etc.
