I don't know if there are any Scout Rifle weirdos here, but here is a comparison review I did of the two Burris Scout Scopes.

Love the Idea, hate the final product, and with a very large gap in available optics, seems most agree that it's not as good an idea as Col. Cooper thought it was!

That being said, I love the idea of a Modern Fighting Bolt Action, but much more then that, a handy tool for all needs one might have, and to that end, my new Ruger Hawkeye Guide fill this niche exceptionally well for my needs, so much so, that it has replaced several other long guns!

I cut down a Moisin-Nagant to 19" barrel and unsoldered the original sight and placed a rail with a 3x9-30 scout scope. Made for a nice brush gun. I paid $39 for it and ammo was $16 for 140 rounds in a tin can. I wouldn't build another but wouldn't get rid of the M-N either.

I would like to see the rail for that thing. :)

GG&G makes a good pic rail for the M1A scout squad and a mount to go with it so that you can mount a normal scope to the gun.

Not a lot to see, the 1 piece mount obscures the rail. It was a steel rail that I milled 1/8" from the bottom, concaved it with about 60 passes, got 'er hot and soldered it on. I modified an AK flash hider to taper fit (It sends the fireball out to the sides) and had the entire barreled action powder coated.
It made a great, quick handling and hard hitting 100 yard gun, which is great in these parts for larger game. Decent out to 200 yards from the bench. Shot a rabbit at around 80 yards and never found most of it, so the round is only good for hogs and deer.
