hmm, recruiting is down, so lets eliminate more positions. That makes total sense. My daughter almost went into the army last year and when she opted out the recruiter about lost his mind.
If you are having recruiting shortages why eliminate 5% of the force. That sounds exactly like taking a problem and making it worse.
My Oldest Son had to fight and fight and fight to get his "Retainer bonus" to re enlist, despite fully qualifying for it! It took a phone call from Me to his company commander and a serious earful to get things changed, so my Son is now on the hook for the full 20 years, which he had planned anyway, but he rightfully demanded his bonus they are offering everyone else! That was a $54,000 check the tax payers just wrote my Son, well deserved/earned says me! His Co was pretty impressed that I called him out and stood up for my Son, neverminded the fact the Co also knows who and what I am, so it wasn't that big a deal for him to push the right buttons to get things handled and my Son made right! I still question WHY it took a phone call from Me to get things straightened out, something my State congress critters are now fully aware of and promised to handle it properly so any future bullshit toward re enlistments will not happen!
They are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic! By reducing the number of troops needed they are able to meet their recruiting goals!
I'd rather a smaller quality Army than lowering the standards any further. I guess the politicians will have to send soldiers on smaller bullshit missions in foreign shitholes.
Recruiting is just tip of spear. Need to recruit to replace angry white males, who are not re enlisting because they are being sc****. Had nephew's kid who was in USAF and wife was too. Second hitch and NCO with time in grade and in electronics. When time came for promotions they promoted a black female, unmarried, with 2 kids and out for about half of previous 2 years on medical for having a kid and family care. In fact, out when promotions came out. If he did get promoted, would likely have to move as slot would be filled by new NCO. Said enough was enough and got out. His wife said same, was in security operations going over photo data for targeting information, and they both left with about 10 years in. Don't know who replaced them or how well they were able to do their jobs. I know there must of been problems with his unit as she wasn't even there a good percentage of the time.
I have a young woman who works for me now who got out as an E5 in a maintenance battalion. She said the woke BS and racial preferences had ruined the Army. Super sensitive Queers and wannabe gang-bangers all the way to the top of her NCO CoC. Lots of Os and NCOs sexually assaulting white or Hispanic female enlisted without fear of repercussions. Officers wouldn't hear it, JAG wouldn't pursue it, and IG would punish the victim in their own evil ways.
