Southern part of Mich is straight-wall/muzzleloader/shotgun. Anything goes up north. No .22 cals for deer though!
Concur. Bought a home defense gun at auction. It was a Tri-star, brand new (dealer close out). Evidently the dealer kept the choke. I called customer service and had a new choke and choke wrench in 5 days. Very pleasant people to work with out of Kansas City, MO.
Yea the old raptor would blow the charging handle out if you shot 3" mags, they send me 2 or 3 under warranty. After a few years i sold the gun.
So I went to Larry's last Thursday to pick up a ammo order that had arrived. And some new Henry's were on the truck as well. I am not big on Gold Plated Henry's way to shiny for my taste. And now I have to go back to Larry's on Tuesday to pick 3 more guns up LOL. I don't have many lever guns in fact I had exactly one, a old Marlin 30-30. Now I have 2 more or will have and 2 guns in .30-30. The Second Henry to catch my attention was the all weather .45-70. Pretty much everyone speaks highly of the .45-70 so I figured what the hell why not. I do like the All Weather Model LOL Larry has a wall full of Gold Plated Henry's but they just don't make me moist. It only took about a minute of handling the All Weather for me to say SOLD! To the grumpy guy wearing the funny hat. Then there was the Kimber 1911 in 10mm that I have been looking at and touching for a couple of Months now and debating and handing back and repeating that ritual with about every week. So I am repeating the Kimber Ritual again on Thursday and Larry says "If I make it a even $800 can we put it on todays FFL form....... I am getting wore out taking it out and putting it back!" So now have another Kimber 1911 the other one is a .45. The other 10mm 1911 I have is that Rock Island 10mm 1911 I bought a couple years back. I have quite few Kimber's both sidearms and rifles and have nothing but good to say about them. They had 2-3 year period where they had some quality control issues and were not living up to their name in 2009-2012 They corrected their malfunctions in that area. I went in for a case of 12gauge 3" #5 shot high brass shells and end up spending a whole lot more LOL. I need to be done buying new guns for a while hehe. My not scary gun walls are starting to get full and over flowed in to my bedroom LOL. I think the two new Henrys will fit on the wall on the right side behind the heater. Sigh and I need to finish putting the cabinets and counter tops together, and putting the new ceiling in the bedroom and staining and finishing the the cabinets and shelves and plywood on the walls on that side are held up by the shelf bracket screws. I still need to cut out the holes for electric gang boxes and drop the lines down inside the walls. And yeah I am weird I took that big ass weighs 3 million pounds 10' long oak dresser out of there and replace it with kitchen cabinets and hardwood counter tops. Mrs Krap would not approve of most of what I have done with the Cabin if she were still alive. Don't believe she gives a shit one way or another now. So I have and am remodeling the Cabin into what I like and what works best for me. Like setting up my little wood working stuff in the bedroom LOL. Not really working for me so thinking moving the little wood shop back to the main wood shop and moving the reloading operation to the bedroom bench.
