Military arms ditching 5.56 as the key survival round.
It's the most available, lucky gunner says it's the number 1 rifle ammo they sell, as far as I know it's the cheapest center fire rifle ammo, is very deadly up close.

    "Can't kill a deer with 5.56 at 300 yards"
Well no shit. A reasonable cartridge for offing a deer at 300yd doesn't fit in an ar15 platform.
Says "5.56 doesn't shoot far enough" and goes for 300bo with 9 inch barrel???
    Da faqk?
So a 5.56 rifle doesn't shoot far enough for ya so clearly the answer is something with an even shorter range... a 300bo with a 9 inch barrel and subsonic ammo???
    Do what.
Subsonic 300bo has nearly 22lr trajectory.
Then recommends a short boi 308 sig mcx. Umm no, no and no.
For sig mcx money, a factory short boi with a factory silencer you could get a nice AR15 a budget non-fullauto silencer with ok scope and something like a ruger American 308 with a better scope and a cheaper bolt action silencer and have money left over for a bunch of ammo.
I think he is simping for sig.
Says "don't worry about breaking the law when society breaks down".
No don't ever say that, fed boi can use that as probable cause right now to fuck with you.
Never ever, ever say you intend to break the law for any reason, double especially so if it involves something that falls under the ATF. Even if you "would only do it if the government is no longer around or ineffective to save your self". Narcissistic megalomaniacs can't entertain the possibility they "won't be around" or will be "ineffective" or "incapacitated". To fed boi saying something like that is an admission of guilt.
If ever asked why you bought m4/m16 fire control parts, 3rd hole jig, ect. The only 3 answers should be: "lawyer", "lawful use" or "to make a cutaway" that's it.

Military arms channel is once again in favor of the 5.56mm... after going full retard when the military officially may have adopted 6.8x51 which a year and a half later doesn't appear to really be happening.

I didn't know the sp1 used a 2oz buffer. That's nuts. Normal rifle buffer since M16A1 has been a 5.2oz buffer. Unless your running full auto run a heavier buffer, especially if you have a silencer. Put some tungsten in there and slow it down a bit.

Taurus brawler. Like a $200 Taurus judge but not revolver, probably shouldn't fire 454 in it and only a single shot.

I purchased a Ruger Ranch rifle back in the day because it was so much cheaper than the AR-15. I never did like the .223/5.56 round and sold it several years back. Maybe, if I had bought the AR, which I really wanted, things would have been different.

Yes when I got my mini14 it was $400 used, there were no used AR15 and new ones were around $1,000.

Cult HBAR. Colts attempts to appease gun grabbers. Large pin receivers, fake takedown pins, no bayonet lugs, heavier profile barrels just so "it's not military profile", non full auto bolts, filled in auto seer areas, pinned bird cages. F all of that, every bit of it. Just a bunch of sht that will make the gun needlessly more heavy and more expensive.
If someone gave or I inherented one I would sell the abomination and buy a real AR15 since they're worth stupid money to fuds for some reason.
The AR15 is the Military arms channel ultimate gun of the universe for this week and then next week the AR15 and/or 5.56mm will be foreskin cheese again.

I took my poverty pony A2 rifle to the range, which does have an FN barrel and started shooting at an 66% IPSC target at 200yd and was hitting it every single time no problem. Then was able to score 16 hits out of 20 shots on a 66% IPSC target at 360 yards with my 69gr rifle specific hand loads. It was a very windy day.
I think the misses all went low as my hits were on the bottom half of the main body of the target.
Wind was blowing perpendicular to the shots at 20 to 25mph by the time I did the AR15 test.
I went there to shoot the 6.5mmanbun when there was little to no wind and as the wind started to pickup. I accomplished my 6.5 shooting goals before I ran out of ammo and before the wind was going nuts. With the 6.5 I was only having to hold 2moa at 360yd to get dead center hits on that metal target in 15 to 20mph winds. Shooting at 360yd in the wind with the 6.5 was too easy.

Always blows me away when people think they need a comp for 5.56. Competition shooters where you are getting timed, sure, but the recoil is so mild I can't really tell the difference even during reactive shooting. IMO Smith Vortex is the way to go unless it's a QD for a silencer. Birdcage is always G2G.

I run a silencer or xm177 flash hider which is a silencer too, heavy buffer and an industrial hydraulic strut threaded into the rear of the buffer tube. Mine recoils like a 22lr.

Yup. 300 BO makes for crappy 5.56, just like 308 makes for crappy 300 WM. 5,56 makes for crappy 308 BO as well.

It's all about application. In an urban situation where distance will be short and stealth is paramount then 300 BO sub suppressed is a better choice. Ditto for inside your house or using a very short barrel with supersonics. I'd make the case that at least one 300 BO silenced sub gun should be part of your rural kit as well.

Bullet is also very important. FMJs and OTP's for 300 BO are really range ammo. You want Lehi, Makers, Hammer, or the special supersonic ammo made by Sig for the rattler. These expand per purpose and kill well. More expensive than range ammo, but an extra dollar to stay alive is always a bargain. Ballistic jell bouncing around does not make an attacker more dead than putting the hole where it needs to go. Note that in the video every shot fired into the ballistic jell regardless of which cartridge would have been lethal.

Longer ranges, barrier/plate penetration, noise no issue then 5.56 or better yet 308 every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
