this is the lighthouse where I live last night. They are refurbishing it now and placed a star atop while the light is being made ready. It was built pre-civil war and is an iron clad brick structure. Over 100 people took refuge in it during the greatest natural disaster in American history, the 1900 Galveston Hurricane, which killed at least 8,000 people.

Yep, I remember recording songs off my parents' big stereo unit with my little portable casette recorder, and off the radio. Good times.

 

Still have a cassette player and cassette player. My reel to reel tape player and turn table got destroyer in hurricane Hugo along with all my records and 60+ reel to reel tapes ------
