I love it! This is awesome. Looks like a library and a cool place to hang out. What are you reading? Is it a Brandon Sanderson book? Which one should I read first?

Back at it 100 percent. The boy made it to class today and mauled me a bit. Worked on triangle choke and defending it. Good times.

That thing was on a dead-end street in the middle of nowhere. I think I was the first customer in years, well fake customer. :D

I think it's pretty awesome! It even has places to sit :coffee: and stained glass windows . I love stumbling upon nooks like that. The woods near where I grew up has a number of treehouses. I used to love finding them andencampment. Alone with my thoughts. Back in the old days that wasn't too risky (or maybe it was, but I was lucky to not be bothered), but now I'm sure most of them have turned into encampments.

I love a good strength and conditioning day on a Monday! I also went on a long walk and pruned the heliconias. 2023 was the first year probably in my life that I didn't go for a swim! I think I'll have to change that this year.

Wait, you live on Hawaii and haven't been for a swim for a whole year?!

@CraftyMofo yes, isn't that unbelievable? I was so focused on my goals and routine that I let the year escape me.

I shifted my rest day to yesterday and did a power leg day today! Starting my long fast in a few hours.

Hi! This week my long fast lasted 33.5 hours. Not the full 36, but I'm okay with that.

    Last week I read:
    • "Hang the Moon" by Jeannette Walls This was a Historical Fiction book about a female bootlegger in Virginia during the Prohibition era. I gave it a 5 star rating and really enjoyed it.
    • "The Mastery of Love" by Don Miguel Ruiz I appreciated the insights in this book. If you can love yourself enough to not need it from others then your relationships can be healthier. My number one rule for relationships has been that I never wanted to be with someone who I need or who needs me. It's important for both people to be complete and free then choose to be together because they want to be.
    • "So Long, See You Tomorrow" by William Maxwell This is an autobiographical coming of age story that talks about the impact a horrendous murder had on two friends. It's only 135 pages, but artfully written.
    • "Big Panda and Tiny Dragon" by James Norbury Morsels of wisdom. Beautifully written and illustrated and yes, I got a bit teary.
    I'm currently reading:
    • "The Most Dangerous Animal of All: Searching for my father and finding the Zodiac killer" by Gary L Stewart This is a true crime memoir that is very fascinating. I'm enjoying it. I thought it was interesting to see the overlap between Van and the Manson Family. It's scary that people like this really exist.
    • "Permaculture for the rest of Us: Abundant Living on Less than an Acre" by Jenni Blackmore I've started tending to my garden beds again and this book has inspired me to build a few keyhole garden beds. I think it's a really good reference book for beginners.
    • "Tao of Jeet Kune Do" by Bruce Lee I saw this book for years on my parent's bookshelf, but never read it even though it piqued my curiosity. In 1970, Bruce sustained a severe back injury and was bed ridden for six months. He spent this time working his mind and he wrote this book. I appreciate all the handwritten notes and diagrams. There's so much to learn.
    • "A Divine Language: Learning Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus at the Edge of Old Age" by Alec Wilkinson I'm thinking of going back and reviewing math from Algebra up to advanced Calculus "for fun." It's been awhile and I think it would be fun to brush up on it again. I know, I'm kind of weird. LOL.
Today is a 30 minute full body strength workout. What are you reading or listening to?

Happy Monday! Today is going to be a total body strength and conditioning workout. After that I'll do my daily dancing then will end the day with my yoga wheel and hoop. I'm making the most of this drought by pruning everything around the property. What are your plans for this week?

Today was a cardio and abs workout and I'm so glad that I got it done. I'm going to do some yardwork. Lately, I haven't felt very motivated to sit at the computer and write articles. I'm thankful that my livelihood doesn't depend on computer and desk work. I'm sure inspiration will strike again soon and when it does, I'll be ready.

@CraftyMofo Oh my goodness! That's a lot of snow and a killer workout. I'm just praying for rain. This is the longest drought we've had in a long time. Lots of wind and random power outages too.
